That's not to do with the lighting system as much as it does with the materials of whatever the avatar is wearing. Light will always impart its colour on whatever it shines on, but to get that 'shiny' effect things needs to have a specular map active (it can be just a blank white texture). The only different kinds of light there are in SL are point lights and projector lights.

  • Point lights: cast light equally in all directions from its source, does not create shadows, and tends to go 'through' objects (i.e. a point light on the other side of the wall will shine through unhindered).
  • Projector lights: cast their light along the negative Z axis of its origin, creates shadows as it does not go through objects.

I have not tried this one, but you can see it inworld before you buy. It has good reviews too. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/The-Real-Disco-Ball/13609871?utf8=✓&page=1&product_reviews_sort=rating_value|asc

I have bought and used this lightning system from the same creator. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LightMe-PRO-Lighting-for-Portrait-Scenes-Photography/13350437

This can be good if you want to project colorful images on the walls, light up a corner and such. These lights does not move. It is a huge, huge selection of different patterns and colors you can use.

Also look at The Real Aurora, that can be sim-wide. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/The-Real-Aurora/4220738

I have bought the Ethereal and used it in small parcels too. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/The-Ethereals-Floating-lanterns-redefining-realism-in-SL/8168343

It can appear as I work for him since I suggest 4 different products, but I have never met him. I just bought some of this stuff, so I know the brand. And you go inworld, see if it is what you need, before you pay.
