I enjoy sharing helpful info, and after a lot of people asking, I took some personal time and created a series of videos on photography in SL. I am using a third party viewer (Black Dragon) simply because that viewer was designed for users to push past limitations in other viewers. If you want to check it out, please see the 10 part series here:

Questions are also welcome below! I might be slow to respond, but I will try! The videos are a bit dry, but they definitely have a lot of content.

Thanks Jackson and good advice! I'd be happy to! I used to struggle to find good info out there - at least info that was intuitive or gave a decent play-by-play so I am hoping this helps!

I'm kinda glad you shared it here where I stumbled upon it :D    I'm finding these very helpful. Thanks!

Here the reason why his blog has an incorrect link to the source he is building on.

https://niranv-sl.blogspot.com/

That is linked to https://git.alchemyviewer.org/NiranV.Dean/blackdragon/commits/master

When the actually  build is from this

https://bitbucket.org/NiranV/black-dragon-viewer/src/Black Dragon/

Thank you for the kind gesture. Whirly you have a great day.

Incorrect.

The blog links to https://git.alchemyviewer.org/NiranV.Dean/blackdragon/commits/master because that is the most recent GIT repository of Black Dragon.

https://bitbucket.org/NiranV/black-dragon-viewer/src/Black Dragon/ is no longer being updated, a very very quick look just at the dates should have told you that this repo hasn't been updated since 5 months whereas the first one has been updated two weeks ago (when the last update came out). Besides, the bitbucket repo is still Mercurial and will stop working when bitbucket finally pulls the plug. It just seems like you are just incapable of working with GIT properly and that's coming from someone who has no idea of GIT but still managed to get it to work.

Also, those are quite some extreme accusations you toss around there with emerald and password stealing, not doing anything, just stealing from lindenlabs, changing/manipulating GNU licenses.

git checkout 6.4.1-release
or any of the releases

Also this might already be the problem, i didn't git tag nor did i checkout any release, i simply checked out at master, nothing else. Those releases are Linden code only.

Please do not use my thread to inflame people about this viewer. If you have an issue, take it up in your own thread or report that to whomever you think needs to know. I support Niran and unless you’re information is both coherent and accurate, I don’t care to have it piggybacked on my thread.
