Region Handshake error

Question

Hi all,

I'm very new to OpenSim and I am trying to implement a version in my University.

I have OpenSim working and I can connect on the local machine but once I try to use another machine on the network the server accepts the user and sends a response to the client but then hangs on Waiting For Region Handshake.

I`m using Hippo OpenSim viewer.

Can anyone help me on this?

Many Thanks

You'll have better luck asking that question in an OpenSim forum.  Some people here may use OpenSim, but these are Second Life forums.

Are you kidding? That viewer has been discontinued for years and years!
Also, which version of OpenSim are you using?

There are so many possibilities and too few OpenSim users here. It has been way too long since I've run an OpenSim server for me to be helpful.

I suggest you check in with OSGrid. Look through the OSGrid forum to see who is currently answering questions. Contact them and find out if they can help you or know who can. OSGrid used to have a weekly... or was it monthly... support and info meeting. Several of the OS Devs were there.

OpenSim.org has lots of information. But, I didn't find many people available to help via the site.
