Voice stopped working after Windows 10 Update

I updated to the latest April 2018 windows 10 update and now voice won't work. I have tried 3 different viewers including SL viewer.

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and any solution please.

That 1803 update has caused several issues in audio setups.

Check your sound settings in Windows' own panel and make sure that the right sources are selected.
Also, microphones have their own privacy settings, where you need to allow access for applications. The search option right within the system settings will help you ... try "privacy" or "allow access", I'm not sure what the right term is.

Check your settings, update drivers. I just finished overhauling my sound system yesterday and found a ton of new drivers available for Win10 due to the April update.

If I could hug you right now I would.  I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to work out how to get my mic working again across all platforms.  (I am blonde when it comes to puter stuff)

I was about to replace my headset at the weekend.

Access to applications must have become disabled during the update I presume.  It's working now

As far as I know, that option simply did not exist prior to the update.

So it was introduced and set to "allow access OFF" by default.
