Why does Sansar take so long to install?

I noticed it has been taking a really long time to install updates. Is this normal? Is this what we are going have to deal with, each time a new update is released, or even the final version? Hours upon waiting to actually play the game.

Yes, unless you got a very nice google fiber connection, it'll be a slow download.

1.3+ GiB of mostly exes.

Considering that the installer is barely a megabyte, it's obviously downloading the actual client before installing it.

Even if your initial download/install will take a while, but as updates come around it'll be considerably smaller.

The initial "installer" you download from the website can probably considered as a plain inital hardware check tool

... which, upon successful check, downloads and installs the main client

...... which downloads and installs additional updates, even though you were under the impression that it just downloaded the most recent client in the previous step.

 

By the way, just presenting the user with a plain loading screen with an average "... xx %" count, but no info on download speed, full file size and remaining data download seems pretty dull to me.

Judging from how long it took me on a 12mb Wi-Fi connection I'll say it was close to a gig.
