I used to use the SLim a while back and it was great I don't know why LL did away with it. Venus Petrov Posted April 6, 2011 Share Posted April 6, 2011 I have used SLiteChat and it works just fine for texting people on your friends list from outside SL. Just keep in mind that the messages will not be logged onto your chat logs, you cannot see notecards or objects that have been sent to you (but they will be there when you next login to SL), and you will appear as online to friends. Dresden Ceriano Posted April 7, 2011 Share Posted April 7, 2011 What I'd like to see is a web base text chat feature, that way you don't have to download anything to be able to talk to people in-world. There used to be a third party one, Ajaxlife, but LL did away with it for some sort of security issue I'm not savvy enough to understand. If LL would do it themselves I'm sure it wouldn't be the same. I just don't think the call for it will ever be enough for LL to set aside their limited resources in order to develop it. A moblie app for the site itself or even a moblie app for just the messenger like FB has.
