You don't "trade", but you can always abandon your Linden Home.

1. Stand in the home.

2. Pick up all your stuff, one item at a time

3. Open World >>> About Land >>> General

4. Click the Abandon Land button.

Then you are free to either request a different Linden Home or go out and buy a parcel of land anywhere.  If you buy on the Mainland, then your Premium land fee waiver applies to the first 512 sq m of land, just as it did with your Linden Home.  That is, the waiver pays the monthly land fees for 512 sq m of land, as long as it is on the Mainland, not a private estate.  You can build anything your heart desires, as long as you are within the L.I. allowance there.  Remember that a house will count against your L.I. allowance, unlike a Linden Home.
