New here and cant find avatar

What do you mean you can't locate her. When you sign on with her, you're on her.

if you mean that you signed in on the website and picked your new avatar and are now wondering what next ?

SL is not played on a website like some other games. Need to download and install the SL viewer and then login and play on that

Continuing options in the guessing game: the OP wants to change her av but can't find its folder in inventory? Or changed it and wants to change back, and can't work out how?

Welcome to Second Life.

You may always change your appearance, sometimes by chosing an entirely different avatar (use the Avatar button in the task bar on the bottom or side of your screen) and sometimes by changing just selected aspects like your skin, shape, or hair.  It used to be very easy to explain all of this to newcomers, but Second Life now offers several different types of avatars, and they don't all behave the same way.  Rather than try to dump the whole load of hay on you here, I'll just point you to a few pages in the Knowledge Base that can get you started:

If you're looking for her on a web browser you won't find her. 

 

If you're using the SL veiwer:

-If you're appearing as a cloud of smoke or not at all your avatar is most likely still loading

-You're have a mesh avatar and you're not using a mesh enabled avatar

 

 

Perhaps you could take a screenshot and show us what's going on?
