if you look for a nice place, go hop around, using the landsales tab in the search ( in the viewer)

There is no best sim, no best anything.... best is where you like it most, where the land meets your requirements, size, prims, neighbours.... and so on... and not as last.... the purchase price...if you can't afford 20L per sqm, it's a bit lost time to go search such sims....

There are only a few mainland regions that are themed, all other are free to do what you want/build, and no covenenats other than the LL agreements, diversity is huge there. Some nice, others you see will be ....oh no... thanks....

Land in regions that border on the Blake Sea or the adjoining ocean sims is very popular, because of the great sailing there.  However, it's hard to find parcels available and when you do, they tend to be high priced, for that very reason.

Where the "best" mainland area is for you depends on what you want to do!  If you want land with an Adult maturity rating, you'll have to look for a parcel on the Zindra continent.  You can find land that is mountainous, snowy, green, rocky, on a river or an ocean beach, or with a road going by it.  You can find land that is all underwater, where you can build an undersea home or anchor your yacht.
