How to cancel Premium Membership (THE CORRECT WAY)

When you have Premium Membership ( the $72/ a year) how do you cancel it without getting your account locked forever?

just downgrade to basic and nothing will happen to your account.

You only can't own mainland anymore and will not get full support.

Why would your account be locked?  Your Premium account is prepaid, so it will remain in effect until the end of the current period that you have paid for, even after you tell Linden Lab that you want to downgrade to a Basic account.  The only ways that your account would ever be locked would be if you had outstanding unpaid bills for other things or if you had committed a major violation of the TOS.
