Check whether your Pre-Paid card is included on this list : SL KB: Accepted Methods

SL doesn't accept the wide majority of pre-paid payment methods, reckon you're SOL.

A common cause of payment method failure is the use of unsupported card types. At this time, the majority of prepaid cards are not compatible with our system, even if they bear the VISA/AMEX/Mastercard logo. This includes cards purchased at retail stores, rechargeable credit cards, and bank-issued check cards.  You may be able to find an Authorized Reseller who will accept your prepaid card (if it is not one of the rare ones that Linden Lab accepts), but they may change a higher exchange rate than the LindeX does.

Generally, pre-paid cards lack the facility to confirm the transaction in real time, which is why some places -- including LL -- won't accept them.   I think you''ll have similar difficulties with it making purchases on trains in the UK or using it in a lot of motorway service stations, at least for fuel.

If all you need are Lindens (because you are renting) then you can buy Lindens through Authorized Linden Resellers. Some resellers will accept a wider range of payment types than Linden Lab will. Caution, only use Linden approved resellers:
