How do you handle an event where the landing point doesn't work?

There has been a long time bug whereby events with a landing point of over 750M can't be posted, how do you handle this? I had one a fortnight ago and I have one tomorrow, I set the landing point to a place near a notecard giver advertising the event, this is far from ideal, I do include the exact landing point co-ordinates in the event description, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Could you not just put the landing point on a platform at a lower level with a TP system up to the event itself?

Not ideal I know, but if someone arrived and there was a big sign saying "click the Teleporter to TP to the event" it would probably be ok.

Go to the ground, set your landing point there, enter the event information and then move your landing point back up to the event location.

I would leave it at Anywhere for an event, and send a landmark to the right place to the group

Actually, that's really obvious isn't it?! Now I feel really dumb for not even realising that was the obvious solution! Doh! :smileyvery-happy:

The group is fine Sid, it's setting the event via the events page that has proven a pain but Cinn posted an ideal solution, when it's over 750M it doesn't even appear as an option.

I have a feeling if you list the event before you change the landing point it works.  I'm sure i've done this.  I list the event on search then change the landing point after.  Give it a test go and let me know if it works.

Well kinda obvious but painful if you do lots of events.  The right solution is to fix the bug!!:smileyvery-happy:
