or still trying to make an account

What you are not doing right, is giving information to help you

sorry

think about what you need to know, and how far you have got to making an account or if you are log into SL you do not need to save game, you alway start at the place you log off, if your viewer is set to.

before logging into SL, check that its logging to your last loccation.

good luck

Hello, Dirkster and welcome to Second Life.

As you may have discovered, SL is not a game, so there's no "beginning" and no "end".  There's no goal and no set of rules about where to go and what to do when you get there.  You will always have a "home" location that is a default where you can log in to of can teleport to instantly if you wish, but that's nothing special.  You can change that "home" location easily by opening the World menu at the top of your screen and selecting Set Home to Here. Once you do that, th new location is the spot where you will go if you click the Home icon at the top of the screen or if you select the Home option when you log in.

That default location is not a place where you live or have any special rights.  In fact, hundreds of other people might have chosen the same location as their default "Home".  It's simply a convenient, relocatable spot that you choose to come back to as your own starting point.

Before you go much farther in Second Life, I suggest doing two things.  First, read the orientation guide and the links in it.  Then once you learn to use your Search tool -- explained in the guide -- look for Caledon Oxbridge University and go there.  They have an excellent set of tutorials for all of the basics, and there are usually a few helpful people there to answer questions too.
