well something is eating your texture memory and making that happen. try the same with any other HUDs, there is an epidenic of really bad ones lately.

the other common causes are high graphics settings on toasters. or merely hanging out in places that have been built badly. what does your hardware summary look like in the viewer's Help>About ?

Texture thrashing is a known issue and a bug. l

LL has a fix they are testing. In my experience, making sure that HTTP textures is enabled helps with this, but others find it better when off. You might try swapping it. The HTTP textures option is on the develop menu, which can be enabled in preferences.

Hardware summary...

When you ask a tech question include information about your computer and viewer. If the viewer will at least show the login screen, get the info from the viewer's Help-About... and paste that into your post with your question. Help->About... provides all the version numbers we need.  To add your info to an existing question use OPTIONS->EDIT. It’s in the upper right of your post.

It also helps to know if you are using a laptop or a desktop and a wired or wireless connection between the computer and gateway and/or between the gateway and ISP. T-Mobile and other ISP’s use a wireless system to connect to you.

Without information all we can do is guess. That means you have to try all our bad guesses and eliminate them one by one. This is easier for all of us, if you give us good information to start with.

Recent viewers have this problem of rendering a texture then having it go blurry and re-render, repeating endlessly. It is called texture thrashing, which is about the video card having a hard time holding all the textures it need to display the scene. To verify that is your problem go to an empty and deserted region like Pooley or Furball. See if the problem persists there.
