If you are rezzed on one of the regions in the Release Channel groups then this maintenance activity may be affecting you if you are trying to purchase Lindens via your SL Viewer.

Check your bank/paypal balance is sufficient.


Check the debit/credit card to ensure it hasn't expired


Verify that you are able to use the same card on a different website or in an ATM


Verify that your bank hasn't blocked the card for some reason


Verify that your bank hasn't blocked transactions to Linden Lab (mine did that once, thinking it was fraud)


If all of the above are OK, go to Billing Support https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/ and submit a ticket or phone them.

This hit me at one point because my bank and paypal had each mutually flagged each other as fraudulent...

Took a month to clean up the mess. I discovered it differently though. I found out rolling up to a gas station with about 1 mile left in my tank and more than that away from home...

And the bank had the useful advice of "just come into our branch in person and get some cash..."

- try that sometime, as a mental exercise. Think about how many of your bills you could pay in cash... No cards, no checks, cash only... Its like I was calling their 1950 hotline...

I had to get friends to pay my bills for a month, including my SL - which was seriously awkward.

I am having this exact problem. I always load money onto my paypal before I buy anything on SL, and I usually buy through the marketplace. I was able to buy things fine until about five-six hours ago when suddenly I started to get transfer errors.


I checked my paypal to make sure I hadn't run dry, and I was fine in that aspect. I wondered if it was just an error, since SL was pretty hellish the other day. So I waited, but I still can't buy Lindens or purchase items using my paypal.


I am suddenly worried that SL may have blacklisted me for some reason, or my paypal blacklisted SL. I have no proof of this, but the sudden inability to purchase items is extremely unnerving.

You should call billing support to see what the problem is,  If they say it's Paypal contact them,.

I have an alt account that can still use my paypal to purchase things, but that just confuses me more. I was going to e-mail Paypal support to see if they knew about it, but because my alt can purchase things, then I'm not sure what the problem is.

 

My alt has 599L, but I used it to buy an item that was about 399L, except I still used Paypal. It worked. On my main account (this one) I have 12L, and when I try to buy anything more expensive than that with Paypal, I am blocked out. Is this is a bug? Did I do something wrong?

 

Is there no e-mail I can use to contact billing?
