what permissions does both prim needs to do the following:

prim A is HUD.

prim B is a linked prim (not HUD).

People buy both of them.

They have to put prim B in the content of HUD A. what permissions do both need?

I did think of: Prim B: Copy and Prim A HUD: Modify. Still it doesnt work... why?

They see a stop sign, when they try to do this

I'm slightly confused here.

Is Avatar A trying to put their Prim B into HUD A owned by Avatar B?

Just the root prim needs to be set as mod; i.e. when the edit box is opened, it's the root prim until 'Edit Linked' is checked and a child prim is clicked on.

This could be quite a project to develop a list of the can and can not do's with worn attachments and permissions.

For instance, I have to rez my Chim to add a dance but on the other hand I can add a LM to open collar while wearing it.

I disagree with you. I'm testing it on the moment with my ALT avi.

The prim who will be put in the content of the HUD, must have the modify AND copy perm, also the HUD must have both perms (copy and mod) Checked on. If the HUD is WORN.

If the HUD is not worn but is rezzed in the word, then it is possible to put a prim in the HUD's content with Only copy perm. While the HUD only have to checked on the modify perm.

It makes sense...

I have done al the tests, like this (on all object the No Transfer in ON, my product will not be transferred)

Hud is just a simple test Cube, and prim is also a simple test Cube.

Copy/Mod HUD and Prim

Copy/Mod HUD and Copy Prim

Copy/Mod HUD and Prim without copy/mod

Mod HUD and Copy/mod prim

Mod HUD and copy prim

Mod HUD and mod prim

mod HUD and prim without copy/mod

Copy Hud and copy/mod prim

Copy Hud and copy prim

Copy HUD and mod prim

Copy HUD wand prim without copy/mod

If the HUD contains any no-mod objects or scripts it will appear to be a no-mod object it self when worn if you check it using the edit window.  Therefore it will not allow you to add anything to it while worn.

Remove the HUD and rezz it in world then you can add objects to it with no problems.

I can't seem to replicate this effect. It sounded very plausible, but it just doesn't match what I'm seeing, so... are we sure this is what's happening?

(I had it in mind to test with llGiveInventory, to see if one attachment could give its contents to another and get around the problem, but I can't seem to get quite the same problem to occur, in order to try such a workaround.)
