Whenever you have log-in problems, please check the grid status page.  That will let you know if something is going on with log-ins.

Or pay attention to the other threads in Answers - this has been the hot topic all night.

Here's the quote from the page I link:

Just in case you are having issues following links as well:

P.S. Just to let you know, 10's of thousands of DNS servers are spread out all through the world at various ISP Data Centers, Large Business Data Centers, Internet Backbone Provider Data Centers, Universities and the like. If there is a problem with a DNS server that Linden Lab controls then the resolution is usually very quick. If there are issues with some of these remotely distributed DNS servers, then the resolution takes a bit longer.

Also,

If you are brave and know how to do this, you could swap out your ISP's DNS servers for the Excellent Public DNS Servers from Google and see if this helps you.

DNS1: 8.8.8.8

DNS2: 8.8.4.4

This can be done:

1)  in Your ISP's Router if you have the Administrative account name & password

2) in your PC's NIC Device TCP/IP setting. [The method varies depending on PC or Mac and on OS]

Good Luck.
