The Second Life auction is just for Linden Lab to sell abandoned land, you cannot sell your land on it.

You can however set your land for sale and you can also post land for sale in the Land forum.

Just to add to Charlottes answer

No one can guarantee you a high price for your mainland.  There is just too much of it available for sale for very little money.  So unless your parcel is located in a high demand area, you won't sell it if you price it higher than average land is priced,.  Average mainland sells for $1L or less per prim and even then a lot doesn't sell at all and is ulitmately abandoned by the owner.  An example of a high demand area is land on the shore of the Blake Sea or bordering large areas of land owned by LL that is landscaped and maintained as a preserve.

The only thing you can do is put it up for sale, Just remember if the price is to high you will not sell it. Unless it's a nice seaside area. just look around what others charge and compare them with yours to determine what to sell it for.

Make sure you click "Show in search" for a few L$.week otherwise it wont even show in search. Posting at the SL Forums, Mainland for sale will help too.

Linden Lab is selling Abandoned mainland for $L 1 per square meter.  There is so much of this that it's driven down the purchase price of mainland to almost nothing.

The only way you will sell your land for more than this is if it is special in some way...protected waterfront, or double prim land, or in a themed area like Nautilus City.

One of my friends has a lovely snowland parcel in the mountains with a gorgeous view, and he has been unable to sell it for several months, even though it is set to just $L 1 per sq. m.

Set your land for sale using World/About Land.  Start at whatever you decide a reasonable asking price is, and then decrease it once per week until it sells.  You may wind up selling it for LESS than $L 1/ sq. m.
