Strangely, I'm a Cloud, but I cast a Shadow

I just noticed that, although my avatar is rendered as a cloud, the shadow it casts is correctly rendered.  It seems strange that the viewer knows what my shadow should look like but doesn't know what I should look like.

It's not your shadow, it's Ruth's. How did you get a red cloud? Mine is always white.

@ Jennifer - that's quite quirky, and rather arty in it's own way. Does the invisible man cast a shadow?

@ Drongle, I think that's because Jennifer is using Firestorm viewer.

The "cloud" is the "new Ruth".  People didn't like the runty little female that is the real Ruth so they made "Ruth" a particle cloud instead.  Since the real "Ruth" is a female avatar the software will see it as that and cast the shadow of what it sees..........it's the viewer that sees Ruth as a particle cloud.

like i am here but not and only my shadow marks my passing. is pretty freaky that thought as well

your avatar remains a cloud until the basic parts of it are loaded, such as shape, eyes, skin & eyebrows. probably your shape and other parts are loaded but not all of them, the viewer recognize your shape and display its shadow.

When I get a chance, I must see if i cast a shadow when wearing a whole-body alpha mask.
