I HEAR WATER RUNNING IN MY LINDEN HOME. i DO NOT SEE IT  HOW DO I STOP IT. IHAVE LOOKED IN THE HOUSE AND OUTSIDE. tHANK YOU FOR ANY  HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME.

It's probably on your neighbor's parcel, so you'll have to ask him to click the little button in About Land >> Sound that says "Restrict gesture and object sounds to this parcel." 

If it's NOT on your neighbor's parcel, you can go looking for it with a beacon. Type CTRL + Alt + Shift + N to see the beacon control window, and then select Sound Sources.  You'll see a crosshair wherever here's an object with a sound generator in it.  Find the one you want and mute it.

Isn't the sound of running water so lovely? I personally love it....... Unless it is so loud I feel like I'm being water-boarded. The advise given is exactly what you need to do.

Oh Linden Lab - why don't you include a kewl little option to allow the owners to firewall sounds from neighboring parcels. Just asking.

I agree with Rolig.

But if the object that make this sound is in your parcel, you could return it to its owner. Left click on it and choose return.
