Dee,

Using Phoenix & Firestorm's Radar Tab is pretty simple.

If the Avatar is "Out of Range" is means they are not within the viewing radius of the Radar feature or your Viewer.

So are you talking about an Avatar in the area with you?

If this is the case, have you muted this person? They will not be visible to you but usually they will be greyed out.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Dee

Sometimes you don't always get a true reading with the radar.  The avatar who is showing on your radar as being nearby, but you cannot see, is probably just high up in the sky, so give it a test will you? Fly up slowly, and see watch what happens with the radar reading. My guess is the avatar will come within range properly, and the radar will be nudged into working correctly.

Another possibility is that the avatar you can't see is on a land parcel with exterior visibility turned off.  In this case, you will see an avatar on the radar, but you will not be able to cam to them.

OKies - When I get weirdities liek this I

 

1) Ask the Avatar to pretty please re-bake for me.

2) If that fails, I Clear Group Cache and my Network Cache and re-log.
