Help downgrading from an SL Premium account.

Hi everyone, I am going to cancel my Premium account on SL and am wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make the transition to a free account easy. I have had a Premium account since June of 2006 more or less and believe the time has come for some change.

I have rented some prim space for our Marketplace products and Hippo servers.

Is there anything else I am forgetting to do? Thanks for your help.

Just make sure you sell or abandon all your mainland, otherwise you'll still be charged

I was assuming the land would be abandoned automatically once I changed to the basic account.

No...in fact, if you still own Mainland or donate tier to any groups, the downgrade page won't allow you to downgrade...er, that is, if it's working correctly.

abandon all land. decrease group tier donations to zero. downgrade land tier level on land management page. Wait until the billing cycle finishes and make sure it worked. then downgrade to basic.

"Downgrade Requested You have already initiated the downgrade process. We will convert your account to Basic and the end of your billing cycle: Monday, 2012-05-14." All done, thanks for your help. ( I have to admit, that felt good. ) Peace

Absolutely - otherwise you still own that 512sqm land and must be premium
