My mac also refuses to resolve, but the old mac had now updated yet and logs in fine. It is clearly a release issue.

yes, same problem here ...it must be an issue with the new release, I managed to login in fine on the previous version which was luckily on my older computer.

Hopefully there will be a quick fix, I also tried with the new Beta release to no avail.

Also, third party viewers are able to login fine.

I imagine the Lindens will make an update to this problem very shortly, I certainly hope so!

Here is a fix posted by Gio Solo that might help all of you:

I found a temporary solution for my Mac. Now I can use Second Life Viewer 2.6.3.

Basically I had to add the following additional DNS servers to my DNS settings in Network settings under System Preferences:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

While adding the DNS servers in system preferences seems to remove the DNS error, the viewer would still crash when reaching "Downloading Clothing" during the login process. If you are experiencing the same problem please vote and add your secondlife.log file to the Jira:

I had the same problem the minute the update was installed.  I am currently using Viewer 2.  Is there a fix for this yet?  I had to download Phoenix in the meantime, but I would prefer to use V2.  Help!
