help! in the sky, cant teleport.

i tried to go to a destination and got booted. i am now in the sky...  and cannot even teleport home. only a red arrow keeps showing up. what do i do? super newbie here if you didnt get that already. help!

Log off.  Then come back in but change your logon point to home.  If you need somewhere else, just type ROSEDALE in the location field.  That will drop you off in water by a little park but it will get you out of the sky in any case.

Occassionally you will find yourself in a place where you cannot teleport. Generally the region is having a problem not you. You may not even be able to fly or walk out of the region. The fix for the region is a restart. Your immediate work-around is as suggested, log off then log into a different region.

Occasionally, if you are a new account in SL, you will find your self griefed by the parcel owners LagTech Griefer Orb ( Sorry your avatar is too young to spend money in our store, come back when you are older meanwhile have a nice grief from Asshat Fashions! ), and ejected to invalid co-ordinates, floating a few meters above the World Limbo Ocean, such as -20km x axis, yes more than 20 km off the edge of a sim!

 

And you can't move from an invalid location, not walk or run or swim or fly or teleport, so as mentioned earlier in the thread you have to relog, in a different location. many new people don't know how to do this, so use of Griefer Orbs by landholders in this way is a serious problem for newer residents.

 

Remember not all new people in SL *HAVE* a home location set, or even know they should do so.
