is anyone having trouble purchasing L's using paypal?

I am trying to buy  L's using my  paypal acct. There is plenty funds available but it keeps asking me to link a credit card or debit card to  my acct. I do  not want to link a credit card to  it.

the credit card link is to have a back up payment source in case paypal is having  " bad hair day" - and doesnt want to process in a timely fashion

and the nice thing is that you can have your paypal as PRIMARY payment source-- and the credit card as back up

Its also a validation thing too...

Unscheduled Inventory Database Maintenance

You have to have a secondary payment source as a backup for your PayPal account.  That is, your PayPal account has to get its funds from either a credit card or a bank account.  Linden Lab prefers that you use a credit card to back up the PayPal account, because they depend on PayPal being able to pay them immediately.  If PayPal has to charge a bank account, it can take up to a day or more for the bank to transfer funds.  Therefore, the official statement from Linden Lab (accented here in red for the important part) is ....

Linden Lab does not accept e-check (bank account) payments through PayPal because they cannot be processed quickly enough to match the instant delivery of virtual goods and services.  Therefore, we require that you have a credit card on file with PayPal as a backup payment source, OR that you pay with your PayPal balance in USD. Without a sufficient USD balance in your PayPal account, you will not be able to use it with only a bank account.

Everybody can create a paypal account, but LL needs to know there is a real person responsible for the purchases, ánd be sure they get their money.

Manually added funds can be from doubtfull resources.
