  1. I have the same problem with the SL viewer on Windows 10. Have tried all the usual things, but the only solution I have found is to download the latest SL Viewer (version 6 2 3 527758 x86 64). Problem gone on this version.

  3. I agree with you shaniqua - I was just pointing out the mistake in reading the table being referenced. However, I do remember, years ago, there used to be monthly stats published showing how many traders fell into bands of L$s traded. Last time I saw them there were just a hundred or so making meaningful money in real $. They were a handful of currency traders, some big land owners, such as Anshe Chung, and big businesses such as Pixel Dolls. That was when SL business was strong and I certainly have noticed a large drop in business over the last 2-3 years. I also recall that when a similar rapid change in currency rates occured (a couple of years ago), it was caused by LL undergoing some form of "quantitative easing" - so there could be a number of contributing factors - but I don't think money laundering is one of them. A money launderer would more likely pick bit coins these days.

The table lower on the page shows the average quantity of L$ traded and the max quantity. The max is about 1.3 mil. So, no one is trading 'millions' on any given day. You are a couple of decimal places out - that table shows the max volume traded to be over 105 million L$. A couple of years ago there was a similar situation and it was caused by LL indulging in an amount of "Quantitative Easing" - presumably because they thought it would help business. However this time, some of the movements have been so sharp, I would have expected the cut off to be triggered to stop trading.
  5. Yes I remember most of those things - but I'm only 5and a bit. Remember the grey goo? Oh, and remember update Wednesdays when we all waited and waited for SL to come back up again?

  7. Welcome Rod and very good luck to you. "Many are called, but few are chosen." Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
  8. Welcome Kim I believe the X-factor lies in the dynamic, symbiotic relationship between LL and us Residents. Foster this and we all thrive - stifle this and we all suffer, Good luck!
  9. Hi Alexxis, First of all you must use the SL Avatar figure - get it from the download section of this website. You could also use a Poser 2 figure as that has the same skeleton - but no other Poser figures can be used. Unzip the download SL avatar file and put all the contents in the Poser Library. For a static pose you just need 2 frames - just edit the frame number in the frame counter at the bottom of the screen - this is on a tab which you may need to open up. Change the 30 frames to 2. Go to frame 1 and select the SL figure - just double click on it from the library tab (opens from the right side of the screen). This should be in the zero rotation T-pose. Just make sure by clicking all the joints one at a time and look at the values set in the parameter dials - make sure they are all zero. (You may need to open the parameter dials window from the menu options.) Move on to Frame 2 and pose your figure. Use the various camera positions to check it is ok and save when you are happy with it. Now click File\Export and select bvh and export your file ready for upload. In the SL upload window make sure you have checked "Loop" and set a suitable priority for your pose. Check out the stickies on the Animation Forum and other post there for more information.
