    Yea Charity had one of those recorders. can schedule recordings and such. made watching some programs a lot easier for sure lol. . I have a 2TB hard drive for my intertainment needs lol

    Not too long ago I saw a TV show toss up ads during the show. They  have their little bar down below and suddenly start seeing ads scroll by. 

    But hey more power to SL for  tossing up ads. . More money might mean more development .. or not lol

    I guess it is a matter of personal preference. I would expect facebook to bombard me with ads since there is not premium membership and 100% free. FB has gone as far as bombarding my wall with ads and now I don't use it anymore. Ads that make me think my friends agree to LOL

    My ad in my signature is not on your pages and only visible when I answer questions or help someone or answer a post or 2 . Small price to pay for help from residents

     

    I could care less if the ads were from SL or even RL. Its just not the standard . I am all for a company to make money. That's why I payed for premium. But I guess LL wants money hand over fist and that's fine for them too. It will be a deciding factor weather I renew or not and the horrible support I received lately is the topper. They have ads now. So I don't need to pay for ads being displayed to me. LOL

     

    Like I stated before. Removal of banner ads for premium members is normally a selling point to get people to pay for premium .. LL has it backwards LOL

     Just like when I ran my clubs. I had all kinds of ads put up. Because I didn't charge anyone anything and needed to recover costs. If I charged for entry and use. Then I wouldn't disrespect the  premium members by  putting up ads all around them to make even more money LOL But I guess that's why my proffits were low and user base high LOL

    But I am no one to tell anyone what to do. If that's what they Want to do then that's good for me too. It just leads to decision making on the users end. I am not against it totally. I just felt it is a bit crass

    Pretty much why I dislike Television. Pay for cable channels and then get hit with redundant ads every 10 minutes. I dont watch Television anymore lol Only to catch up on news and weather. lol

     

    But if I would have to look ad ads on the site i would rather they be Second Life world ads and not RL ads

    LOL this is supposed to be in effort to fix problems with rezzing. Its not an attempt to ad new things .

    And there is nothing wrong with LL viewer. It runs fantastic.

     

    It doesn't matter to me if it breaks firestorm . That just means the coders need to be on their toes and fix it faster,

    I haven't used a tpv in over a year and loving it :)

    When you use a third party viewer, you also take on the extended bugs as well as extended time in adding the new features than if you would using the official. Because the TPV will always be playing catch up

    Its the same code (Open Source). A good computer can run all viewers with no problem. A Poorly managed or weak computer hardware wise will have troubles with anything

    I assume I got it because I was logged in but I'm not going to check, and I do know my main alt got it. It's a pity I stopped using bots or they would have it as well.

    LOL Yea, I made a comment in group chat yesterday that if somone was running 100 bots it would be a nice little bit of change.

    I just  find it odd how they picked and chosed who gets it? . My alt logs in more than I do because he runs a service. I logged in and out several times and he didnt. I think Only twice lol. I am a Premium member and my alt is not. So it is safe to say that not even all premium members got it lol. Nothing special to it :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:

    So that means after 1.0 you will have to pay full price which will be 20 dollars or pay for upgrades?

    It's Probably an IP ban. I am currently going thru the same thing.

    My Internet company came out to do some work the other day and after the router came back on line it gave me a new IP and now I get the " You can not access second life from this computer". error every time I log in. Looks Like I picked up an already banned IP. So I am using my VPN to log in with lol

    If you have access to your router. unplug it for 30 minutes to an hour and see if it picks up a New Ip after you plug it back in to the power source.

    I dont have access to my router, so I have been waiting for LL to answer a ticket for 2 days on this matter. it seems they dont give a flying rats arse lol

     

    My guess is you have an IP that is already in the ban list or their system is borked and banning users just for logging in

    Cannot Login from This PC Error!

    I Am actually going thru this for the first time of my entire Second Life.  I got disconnected my my internet company yesterday while they worked on things. After my internet comes back up. I have a new IP.. Suddenly I find that I am banned from SL LOL.

    So I decided to take the " Lets try using Second Life Support" trail. I am premium. Surely they can help me thru live chat?  Ah alas I can still talk to live chat and get this resolved quickly!(as so I thought)

    So I messaged live chat and told them what seems to be going on . So he says he can file a support case for me and will have to ask me for more information ( my IP. Mac address and my hard drive serial number) thru the case and email.
    Well the live chat dude files an Abuse appeal Ticket on behalf of me. Uh, I didn't even do any sort of abuse to get banned LOL. What is to appeal?  So I send them the information they requested in a timely manner. And then I get a reply from the live chat person thru my ticket telling me. " Thanks Dilbert! That is all the info we need from you at this time" And he proceeded to say in the email that he has no idea how long it will take. And that he is now forwarding my case to the next department and can not tell me how long it will take because he can't see the queue of the next department.  So using live chat was a joke and now has been hours since the issue started . I know how to get a new Ip but I dont have that luxury sharing net with others and can not shut them down for an hour to see if my router picks up a new IP. So it is pretty rediculous how i am having to get the run around on unbanning my Ip because I have clearly done nothing wrong lol

    It is probably one of those deciding factors of why people stop renewing premium and stop using second life alltogether

    So I filed this ticket yesterday and my Ip is still banned LOL
