The question is whether we will be able to see into the new fantasy regions just a short distance away at these points or whether they will connect up. Hopefully the latter, even if just in these two locations.

In time there will be a water connection most likely. At full draw distance at the closest point I can't see anything yet. Hopefully we will be able to access the sub continent in the days/weeks ahead.

It's amazing how much empty space there is for upcoming Linden Home themes. Maybe a place where the old Linden Home continents can be moved to with further expansion.

  2. With these new Fantasy Linden homes being added during the weekend there is now 27, 050 regions in Second Life now. Yay!

It seems like Nelson Eddy and Hanshin regions are the closest points for entry to the new sub continent.

Some of the region names on the new sub continent I like..

    • Patchwork
    • Laughing Witch
    • Mystic Elf
    • Elfin Marbles
    • Teabreak
    • Phoenix Lights
    • Pippins Paradise
    • White Wizard
    • Transformation
    • Bright Eyes
    • Solstace
    • Fellowship

The SSP Development area now looks like this with two unknown areas (?) still yet to be announced.

  3. It appears the Moles have added some more new SSP black regions to mix recently from SSP3021 to SSP3030. It's not clear why SSPNCR is separated away from the black SSP regions.

SSPSCR appears to be a new region that has recently appeared which could be the next theme after the black theme has been announced in the distant future.

    SSP Development Area Formation Layout

    * Purple = Chalet regions development

    * Green = Fantasy regions development

    * Black = Theme to be announced in the near future

    * SSPSCR = Possible upcoming theme

There is definitely work going on behind the scenes recently.

  4. Here is a useful list of the Bellisseria Railway Stations at the moment. I think the Moles will be extending the railway line soon from Lavon Station station up north.

Bellisseria now has four airstrips to fly between.

There is a new north Chalet railway tunnel connecting Lost Creek to Lavon. It appears the Chalet continent will expand north from Lavon where the end of the railway track is currently. The tunnel shows up on the map in blue. Good progress is being made across the Chalet regions.

    New Train Stations

    Chalet Train Stations 😀

I think north of the chalet continent the new fantasy sub continent will be placed.

I remember Patch said in meet the lindens, it will take months before they release the fantasy theme, my guess at the end of the year OR on Halloween, maybe they will have the Halloween event there it's so fitting!

Last year the Stilts was released in early December 2020. Maybe we will have to wait until the end of the year.

  8. During this month's Web User Group meeting Keira Linden mentioned that the iOS version has now been accepted by Apple. The lab are working on the first set of feature updates before it gets released on the Apple Store very soon. The Android version is still in development and won't be released until much later in the year/next year.

    * At the moment the iOS version is in the testing phrase with 40-50 users using it.

    * There will be new dedicated "SL Mobile" regions soon which will be used for communications for those that use the app. Physical avatar presence within the regions won't be available or engaging in local chat.

    * Direct IMs will be possible and Group chat will be added very soon.  3D View is on the roadmap but it's way down the line.

    * Viewing Notecards / Inventory / Seeing who's in the region won't be available in the early days.

    * I think having a chat room/region is being looked into for those that want a few or so friends to hang out with.

Over time more functionality will be added to the IOS version/Android version of the Second Life mobile app.

I read your blog, Daniel, and your info is very useful at the general level, thanks, but I'm looking for deeper analysis the way gridsurvey did in the past.

Thanks very much. I think what we need is a new grid survey website with updated metrics which is some sort of deeper analysis.

The Second Life grid survey is useful for sure but most of the data/stats/graphs are way out of date now. The only new statistics we are all going to get is during the annual birthday events where at least one Linden will share the recent stats for Second Life.

Hi, I'd like to reactivate this topic because no one of the provided links are today offering updated economical stats. Do you know if there is any other user or website providing economical info of SL? Thanks a lot.

I share useful links and statistics on my blog. I do update the page with any new stats on a regular basis.

    https://danielvoyager.wordpress.com/sl-stats/

At SL18B a few Lindens mentioned that the Second Life economy is still going strong and there was a peak last year in user concurrency during the first wave of covid-19.

The Second Life grid survey is useful however most of the stats and charts are outdated.

  11. I really love this new Muehlenbach Train Station over at the Chalet regions continent where the Moles have been working. The stag statues and the seating are nicely placed around the station.

Comparing the number of old Linden Homes regions with the number of new Linden Homes regions isn't going to give you a number that means very much. The old Linden Homes have a higher parcel density because the parcels themselves are smaller and it varies from region to region and theme to theme. It's really apples to oranges so any number you get from that method is honestly about as accurate as guessing how many M&M's are in an oddly shaped jar.

Does anyone know how many Bellisseria regions there are today on the grid and how many new Linden homes there are now ? What's the goal amount to reach for new homes ?

    Thanks.

I do not cout Traditionals and Houseboats as one theme though they were released together. So Fantasy is theme nine and I trust there will be two more.

Since the Chalets came out there are constanly Bellisseria Homes on the landpage so in number the offer by now seems to meet the demand.

Still when trhey start to notify peolpe in the old areas that they have to get out by day X or be thrown out then they should be able to offer them something that comes near to what they had ... and Meadowbrook and Shareto Osumai still lack their 2.0 equivalents.

Patch Linden said this on 18th April 2019 via The New Linden Homes Update Post

    Well that was fast!

In less than 48 hours, our new Traditional Homes and Houseboats on the new Bellisseria continent have been claimed. We're really pleased and overwhelmed at the positive response to the new models and at the rapid speed with which they were acquired. Welcome to the neighborhood: we’re glad to have you here!

  16. Last year at SL17B Patch Linden announced the Stilt Linden home theme (#6) on 23rd June 2020 during Meet The Lindens series at SL17B. The SL17B Enchant was the preview demo region for them. The Stilts release was Monday 21st December 2020 I believe because of the Uplift to the cloud which pushed it back. Soon after the launch there was deployment issues and the Stilts were rolled out in phrases.

The Chalets was unveiled to the public at the 2020 SL Christmas Expo on Friday 4th December 2020. On Tuesday 30th March 2021 Patch Linden announced released the Chalet theme #7).

It's not confirmed yet which SLB regions will have the next Linden Home theme (#8) on them. Last year there was a massive rush trying to get into the SL17B Enchant region and that caused alot of lag for many.

It's a guessing game now on which region is linked with the next LH theme. It's possible that SLB Enchant, SLB Spectacular or SLB Spellbound could be the preview for it.

The Moles have added some new black SSP regions for the next Linden Home theme I think. The purple is the Chalet theme, the green theme and black theme has not been released yet.
