Viper, try to ignore the rude ones. I applaude you for coming back here and staying civil. You don't have to link everything together in order to take it into your inventory as one object, just set your select tool to "select by surrounding," and draw a box around the things you want to select and when everything you want is highlighted, take it into your inventory. The icon will look like a rubiks cube with a piece missing in your inventory, instead of the usual square box for a linked object.
I really can't believe how rude people get over something like this. Easy enough to just explain, especially to a newbie, what the rules are instead of jumping down their throat to chastise them.

re: the arm thing. As previous posters have said, any art put on one arm mirrors on the other arm. No way around this for any texture without using prim attachments.

It is an epic fail. Those ARE specific names and if you get them wrong three times, you'll be locked out of your account. There's been a discussion about this exact thing going on over at slu.

If you are a premium member it is possible your membership fees are recurring for whatever plan you chose, monthly, quarterly or annually. I don't think $L purchases can be recurring.

I don't know why LL keeps the default environment settings in the viewer so dismal... just starting people out in a more flattering light, so to speak, would be nice.

forgive my ignorance, I haven't tried any mesh clothes yet - but wouldn't a glitch pants layer fix this?

it still wouldn't work - you can't make just one sleeve transparent, so any color on one would appear on the other. Using attached prims would be the only way.

The gap is there, you're just not seeing it. There is no way to fix it other than LL fixing it. It's a well-known problem going back for years (I remember noticing it for the first time in early 2007and I did what you are doing, tried to fix it...) but if you insist on banging your head against a wall, then carry on trying to fix it.

For a designer to use the Detroit Tiger's baseball team's logo, or any team's logo for that matter, on merchandise would be trademark infringement... not that you couldn't find someone to create it for you. Just keep in mind you may go to wear it someday and find its been IP replaced in your inventory.

Hi Kat. What do you mean by "use my world" on SL? Can you explain what you mean by that? You can build your own world or environment on some land in SL if you want. If you've developed 3d models already you may be able to use them in SL, but as other posters have pointed out - it won't be free to upload them to SL. If you want to connect something on another gaming platform to SL, that is not possible.

not sure if it will help, but have you checked the payment info you have on file for your alts who are having problems purchasing lindens? when I had the same problem, my payment info in my account had mysteriously reverted to an old, defunct card that no was no longer valid.

and if you look closely you'll see the void there also... it shows up more drastically with some colors than with others. There's a jira about it from years ago here. It only seems to exist between pants and shirts, tho, iirc.

There is a gap in the avatar map between the shirt and pants layers - there is nothing you can do about it. You can 'work around' it sort of with the jacket layer as it does not have the gap.

Compodulator, two-word names are just as meaningless as one-word names. There is no system, there is no connection. LL is not going to change this. There was talk that surnames might be revived but that possibility has been decided against. The best you're going to do is create a display name you like, or create an alt with a user name you like better than what you've already got.

What kind of files are you uploading? You need to use a format that supports transparancy like tga (with alpha channel) or png.
