Storm, if you don't have the spare prims available the quantity as the size of the parcel being sold, then the system will instantly autowhack the # prims on your mainplot and dedicate those to that specific parcel that was sold. The system doesn't know that you will be the new owner, even if this process (between releasing the land from the previous owner and you buying the parcel) only takes a few seconds though, it needs the prims ..... *meows*

I prefer to shop and to purchase on the SL marketplace, it is easier and faster than teleporting everywhere, sometimes I might check out the store in-world first to see the products, but then I buy in the store of course. 75% of all my purchases are done on the marketplace *meows*

just in addition to Love's correct comment, the other option is to lease a plot on a private estate, that way you don't have to be premium member and you are a bit more flexible. That way you can built some experience before taking the decision to go premium. Landrentals can be found in Land search .... enjoy second life *meows*
