  2. Yes I did ... the texture is all alpha exept for the eyebrow area.
  3. I am assuming here that it is the texture of the boat you want to change. Some boats come with the textures included. If this is the case you can download them to your PC (double click on them in your invento and select "save") where you can gimp or photoshop them. Many other sellers have a website where you can download the textures from as *.psd files. If none of the above applies then you need to be creative and create your own textures. On some boats you can just drag a texture from your invento to change it, other boats use scripts. It's best to see if there came a manual with the boat and see what it says about texturing.
  4. I want to change the size and colour of my avi's eyebrows. The easiest way of doing this I think to make a picture of my eyebrows, gimp it and use the result in a tattoo. In Gimp itself the colours look alright but in world it is as if there comes a grey fog over the "paint work". Does anyone know what this is and how I can avoid it ? thanks

  6. I was just hoping something like it existed. If I rez a cube for instance and want to sit on it I can determine on what side of the cube I am going to sit by clicking the top face somewhere near one of the edges. For that to work something must be detected. But that something is not available in LSL then ? Pity ...
  7. Hello, does anyone know if there is a function that will return a number if I touch the face of a prim and that will vary depending on where on the face I touch it ? As if there is a grid on the prims face and the function will return the coordinates of "the point of touch" ? (or maybe a face just has a grid, I don't know) Thanks
  8. It could be a bad transparent layer, you could see what happens if you remove all of them.
  9. Thanks for your response Drongle, I found something. Somewhere in the process of modeling I added a vertice to an edge. By adding it, not to this edge but another one, I could make the very same shape, everything else I did the same as before. Only difference ... this time it just uploads ... I don't know whether to laugh or cry ...

I'm trying to make a mesh object that has three different materials, but if I try to upload it I get the message "Missing required level of detail" and triangles and vertices for all LOD's are marked N/A. It's not the mesh itself, I can upload that without a problem. If I add the materials I can still import it. I can add two of the three UV maps and all goes still well but when I add UV map nr. 3 I get this message. There must be something wrong with that third UV map, if it's the only one I apply I get the message as well. I've been working on this for several hours now and it's driving me crazy, does anyone have a clue what goes wrong ? Thanks

  12. Hi, I do have hud that tells me my speed when I am moving. The speed displayed in the hud comes from this line in the script: llSetText((string)llRound((7.2 * aftervalue)) + " kph", <1,0,0>, 1); This gives a rounded value in whole kilometers per hour. If I leave out the "llRound" the value will be displayed with six decimals and I do want it displayed with only one. How should i do this ? thanks, Jasmin
  13. If I look at the picture you could be standing on/in a sculpt. If that is so then you may not have to ajust the hight slide. Sculpty rocks or hills are often set phantom and when they are then you are able to walk trough them or you will sink away in them. Ajust the slider alone if your feet are underground on "real" land as well.
  14. It wasn't clear to me that you wanted a preloaded HUD, personally I bought all my dances single. I don't like the idea of buying large sets because there are always dances in it you don't like. Using the buid-in AO is easy though, you don't copy any dances in it, just the note cards and everything stays in your inventory so it is pretty easy to stay organized. You will not run into problems with your normal AO as long as you give each animation set it's own note card just like your normal AO has. To change from your normal AO to dance just switch from "default" to say "dance_KIM" or "dance_YUSS" or whatever names you gave the note card and press Reload. You can use as many sets as you like and easily switch between them. To finish dancing just reload your default AO again. You can always try it out first ofcourse as every self respecting citizen of SL has a truckload of free dances to play with :smileyhappy:

If it just to be independent from the location a thing you can do is use the build-in AO of your viewer (if you are not using the official viewer that is) Give each group of dances a folder in your inventory and add a note card with an appropriate name that has the names of the dances as a "stand" in it. You can use as many animation sets as you like that way. Easy to find and no lag. A disadvantage is that you can not invite others to dance though.
  16. I do have have some objects in XML format and want to import them into SL. Does anyone know how to do this ? It's not possible in Firestorm and I have done some googeling on this but all I could find is that I should use Imprudence and I figure I better use something more up to date (Imprudence does upload something btw. but it shows like an indefinable blob with an enormous land impact) Is it still possible to upload objects in XML format and if so what viewer should I best use for this ? Thanks

  18. You are right about that Coby, the dots are green. I really don't know why I wrote yellow, it must have been a slip of the pen ... I have seen Lindens a few times on the map, the blue dots just caught my interest and I TP'd myself to them to see what they were. That was ages ago though, I must have been using V1.23 or Snowglobe, not something special.
  19. If you haven't changed the default settings then the text typed by a Linden will appear in blue, they also show on the map as blue dots instead of yellow green ones.
  20. Found it ...\o/ In the photo tools I had the quality of water reflections set at life-like without the Advanced Lighting Model enabled. Enabling that or reducing the quality takes away the stripes.
  21. I just found out it's only the "o" and the "u" on which they're not allowed, on other vowels they are no problem: ä ë ï ÿ Ä Ë Ï Ϋ. Don't ask ... I haven't a clue.
  22. Hello everyone, For a few weeks now I'm seeing stripes on water, vertically and horizontally, and they flicker when I move the camera. I've never seen this before. It shows like this with all windlightsettings, setting water refections to minimal takes away just some of the stripes and the only way I have found to get rid of them completely is taking the transparency out of the water. I do know ATI and SL is not always a good combination I hope there is no problem with that but here is my system info. I didn't see them before and I didn't update anything recently so I do hope it is one of the settings.
  23. If you use the option "save as" while saving a snapshot you can type the date as a name, the serial number will be added automatically. As long as you don't log off all snapshots you take after that first one will have that same date as a name.
  24. Not so long ago I joined a vehicle group and soon other members told me I'd be fine as long as I ignored the founder of the group ... And that's how it was, a group with nice, patient and caring people and a founder that was a little rough mouthed and ADHD-ish, maybe a nice addition to the group but not exactly representational for the rest of it. One person can not reflect an entire group and definitely not in just a few words, title or no title.
  25. I could have added "and if you don't then don't" to my last sentence but that wouldn't have changed the meaning of my words would it ? All I said really was that you had one short response from one complete stranger in group chat and that under those conditions it is easy to misunderstand someone. Besides ... just a few words from one stranger do not reflect the doings of the entire group. I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill.
