Here is a JIRA https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6403
I don't know if this is causing my deliveries to fail -- I am not on a RC server.
Today I am putting signs by my house vendors tell ppl to buy the boxes instead of buying from the vendors. One failed delivery after another.
-
Yes, just drag it to his inventory box on his profile.
-
Thanks Tatiana :-)
Anyone feel free to copy any of this stuff and use it wherever you like -- no attribution needed (well except the videos and pics). From what I see, merchants are ppl's first line SL skills teachers -- the more education customers have the better for all of us, customers and merchants.
-
My very favorite parts are the parts I don't do inworld -- making textures and sculpts. I am always excited to bring them into SL and see how they look.
-
Yes, Arwen, please do -- I made them really as a merchant resource because I know I am not the only one who spends a lot of time explaining and helping. I like to do it but it is hard work sometimes and takes a lot of time -- so far the time I invested in the tutorials seems to be paying off.
-
Just want to reiterate about merchant reporting tools:
I have been uploading more things to the MP. On Xstreet I could input an item name and see how many had been sold within a given time period. That also helped me see if enhancements were increasing sales.
No more. Every time I want to see how many of something has sold, I have to import the data into Excel -- much less convenient.
-
All of my things are mod, so I spend a lot of time teaching my customers how to mod their things -- I have lots of notecards I hand out, plus most of my Picks are help files. I have taken this information and made webpages on editing linked prims, tinting, and inventory loss recovery, with pictures and Torley videos.
You can find them here http://lagalleriasl.blogspot.com/ -- they are listed in the right column. I have been referring customers there who want to know how to do something or other, or who don't know how to search for or recover missing inventory, and they seem to find the pages very helpful.
-
This should not be overlooked, because it is very important and addresses what most of us agree was the #1 issue -- communication.
Brooke (or someone who talks to her) is reading the forum and taking notes of concerns. She evidently also read the merchant surveys. She has an agenda based on the feedback she has read.
I feel like we have some hope now of forward movement -- and when there is no movement, at least we can know why -- and whether or not it is somewhere in the pipeline.
The level of responsiveness is very encouraging to me.

It is hard for me to evaluate what might retain more new ppl because I loved SL from the first moment. Even the scariness was thrilling. I found a group of ppl who took me in and answered my questions. I played with Barbie -- I mean, Pamela -- constantly, fussing with her system hair and clothes, and yes I identified with her. Instantly hooked.
I did a couple of informal surveys of what Myers-Briggs personality types ppl in some SL forums (Xstreet and SLU) were, and found that (duh) certain types are far more likely to take to SL than others (and are found far more often in SL than RL). Those others -- I think it would be about as difficult to get them to stay in SL as get a cat to stay in the bathtub.
I did a blog post about the surveys, which can be found here.

Kinda wondering whose job it was to test the MP update on all common viewers. Because he did not do his job.
-
I have been selling at 249 for quite a while and it takes probably two days to fill. Seems like 250 would go fast since there are little or no offers @ that price.
-
I dunno, they seem to want Premium accts but they don't offer much reason to have one, esp for anyone who does not have any need for mainland. I canceled mine.
-
I agree -- Pink told us almost a year ago we would be getting enhanced data tools with the wonderful new MP.
I would be willing to pay for even more tools above basic level we had at Xstreet -- but a flat fee (or better yet, a perk of the Premium acct. No way would I pay another 5%.
-
Yes, I am glad delivery has top priority because some of those failed deliveries don't get rebought.
-
Toy. If I had a nickel for every time.... oh never mind.
LL used to release numbers about quarterly inworld transactions. It was not very helpful but better than nothing.
-
Just because someone has never seen a March decline doesn't mean there isn't one. And yes, I learned my first year in business that if you don't do any Xmas promotions your sales will die.
December through February were my highest sales ever, and March was a little less, so I did see a slight decline. That's doesn't say anything about there being a general decline but it comports with my own data.
I would be interested in seeing any and all data of this sort. The more sales data -- on sales in general and my own -- I have the better I can market my stuff. I am really flying blind here.
-
Wow, all this information is much appreciated Brooke! I do agree with the points made by the other posters, but just knowing what is being worked on and the priorities, whether or not we completely agree with them, is pure gold. It is the first ever I have felt hopeful and positive about the MP.
-
Yes I think you may be right about that.
@ Tatiana -- my store best selling sort is pretty normal too now, very similar to relevant. I have not looked at search for the whole MP though -- I had to quite doing that, it was so disturbing.
-
It was crazy, but now reflects what actually is selling (since that is what relevance seems to be based on).
-
Nah, I can never go anywhere. I have a big extended family that gets together regularly with all spouses, dogs, and children, and that is worth more than a fortune to me.
-
I make a living in SL. It is great for the most part but it does tend to take over your life -- I have to step back and say, well, even if sales slip, I am not going to put this much pressure on myself. I do have a RL and I have to protect it from usurpation by SL.

Tsk and after all the PSA's about resisting peer pressure... -
I have no clue, but I know some of my scripts -- and my objects -- got borked after the last couple of restarts. They have done something to the asset server which seems to have borked some objects and apparently some scripts too.

Nice job Sassy!

Just read this on the JIRA -- if this is what is happening, it will be a nightmare beyond description.
