  1. Hi Ayesha, I haven't heard any other reports of scripted touch issues, but the autoreturn issue sounds like BUG-4635: "'Selected / sat upon:' incorrectly shows objects that are not actually selected or sat upon".  When an object is affected by this bug, and is counted as 'selected / sat upon', it is immune from autoreturn.  A fix for this bug is scheduled for this week's RC update (I'll publish the release notes shortly).

  2. Second Life Server (main channel)

The main channel will be updated to get the server maintenance project that was on BlueSteel and LeTigre last week. This project includes a number of bug fixes and some changes to script behavior.

Second Life RC BlueSteel, RC LeTigre, and RC Magnum:

All three RC channels are on a new server maintenance project.  This project includes a few miscellaneous bug fixes.

  3. Update at 2013-11-19 16:37PST: updated the version number for BlueSteel and LeTigre

    Second Life Server (main channel)

The main channel will be updated to get the version that was on BlueSteel and LeTigre last week. This project includes some under-the-hood changes for the experience tools project.

    Second Life RC Magnum:

Magnum is on the same server maintenance project as last week.  This project fixes some bugs (including a high profile vehicle crossing bug), and also includes some changes around script behavior.  This week's update includes the changes that are entering the main channel, and also tweaks the grey goo fence behavior; in response to issues with building rezzers, the 'more strict' grey goo fence behavior now only applies to rezzed objects which are also physical.

  4. The vehicle crossing bug that was fixed was BUG-4152.  I have a description of this bug in a previous forum posting:

    http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Deploy-for-the-week-of-2013-10-21/m-p/2280101/highlight/true#M12343

With this fix deployed to the Magnum channel this week, it should be fixed whenever the vehicle is exiting a Magnum region (the version the destination region is running does not matter).

  5. Second Life Server (main channel)

No deploys are scheduled for the main channel this week.

Maestro/ Andrew.......We still have the problem of vehicles with sitting avatars being stopped and  the vehicle retuned due to crossing a parcel that is full.  I believe this is called BUG  tracker issue SVC-22  which shows as acknowledged but no one is assigned to work on it.  This bug is at least 3 years old.......what is  the  reason no one is working on this?

When an Avatar is  sitting in flying airplane vehicle  at 100  meters elevation  and happens to pass over a parcel that is full  or a parcel that only has 30 remaining spare prims the vehicle is frozen/unable to move.

This issue is very easy to reproduce on any full or nearly full parcel.    Many of the bugs  users report are  difficult to re-produce  but this  issue  can be easily demonstrated on any full  or nearly full parcel....so the question is ,,, if its simple to see the  issue......why is no one at Linden Lab  working on this?

The typical  Linden response is  "you need to submit  a Bug Report on the issue tracker....... WE  did  so .... years ago ! Now it is in Linden Labs  capable hands   not the SL residents.....Plz  lets get this resolved.

Hi dd, which parcel does the 'parcel full' message mention?  I cannot reproduce the 'parcel full' issue in general when I drive my vehicle within a region onto a full parcel - the vehicle is able to enter the parcel.  I think you're seeing one of the new bugs that I described in this post:

    http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Deploy-for-the-week-of-2013-10-21/m-p/2280101/highlight/true#M12343

  8. >> None of the parcels I was entering or leaving were full but there was a parcel full in the opposite side of the region I was leaving.

Hi Uggo, this issue is BUG-4152 precisely.

Regarding the region full issue, what triggers the region resource leak?  When BUG-4152 occurs, the region's 'Objects' stat increases by the number of prims in the vehicle's linkset each time the bug happens (although parcel prim counts remain unchanged).  The Objects stat returns to normal once the sim is restarted.  It seems likely to me that a region with many occurrences of this bug would eventually become full by this issue, and match the behavior you saw with a restart fixing the issue.

  9. >> There seems to be a 3rd bug  of  getting parcel full returns of vehicles ...when the parcel is not actually full also.

If you're seeing a 'parcel full' message upon region crossing and the parcel location given in the error message would not be full if you also added the vehicle's LI to it, this seems like a different bug than the other two that I mentioned.  If this case is reproducible, could you please file a Jira about it?
  10. Hi Marianne, BUG-4024 was actually only about autoreturn of vehicles - it was not related to 'parcel full' bugs which still exist in the current server version.
One unfixed bug is BUG-4152, which describes vehicles being returned due to 'parcel full' errors, goes as follows:
    * When driving a vehicle from RegionA into certain coordinates of RegionB, the vehicle is returned to the owner for 'parcel full' upon crossing if the parcel at the same 'certain coordinates' of RegionA are full.  This should not happen, since the vehicle is not entering the parcel, and vehicles should be immune from returns due to full parcels.

The other unfixed bug related to 'parcel full' and vehicles, only has an internal issue, and goes as follows:
    * When driving a mesh vehicle from RegionA into certain coordinates of RegionB, the vehicle is returned to the owner for 'parcel full' upon crossing if the parcel that the vehicle enters in RegionB is full.  This should not happen, since vehicles should be immune from returns due to full parcels.  Straingely, this bug does not affect vehicles which do not contain any meshes.

I see that the Main Server Restart notice has vanished from the Grid Status Page...Ninja editing or a whoopsie?

Also there appear to be numerous forum postings referring to an Escort Agency in the Indian Subcontinent - has the site been hacked??

That seems like a whoopsie to me, Ayesha.  The main channel roll really did happen; even if it were canceled, the post should still remain there with a 'postponed' or 'canceled' update.  I'm contacting support to have them restore the post.

Regarding the forum posts, I see a bunch of spammy-looking threads created by a few users.  It appears that the account is either owned by a spammer (seems likely given the username matching the topics) or compromised.  I'm contacting support about that as well.

This is a simple, heartfelt plea.  PLEASE can you sort out the Server Code so that avs get a warning before being summarily booted out at region restarts.

Yet again I received no countdown warnings at ALL before being disconnected just now.  I thought you had this issue fixed a few versions back, but it would seem that I am mistaken.

Hi Ayesha, the support for the new 'restart' API that I mentioned in the 2013-09-23 forum thread is indeed in the simulator, but the work to have the rolling restart tools utilize this API is still in progress.  This unfortunately means that the restart warnings for a rolling restart follow the classic behavior; the new-style warnings are only present in a restart triggered by the region owner or estate manager.
