Embark on a Quest in Linden Realms: Collect Crystals, Earn Linden Dollars and Have a Blast!
A group blog by Secondlife in General
Very interesting indeed... it looks very nice, fitting 12 years olds.
I think LL has missed that all of us here are above 18.
Oh, i also sumbled upon something called " Linden home comic" . It's insulting to comics worldwide.

Improving our Lines of Communication with the Community

Like Us on Facebook: Facebook is the best place to find out about cool things going on in Second Life,
Actually, this phrase cought me a little... and now i'm pretty convinced that LL didn't come up with it alone. Just a few moments ago i heard almost the exact same wording from the tv, swedish TV station that also has a perfectly good, informative website. The wording here was "Facebook is the best place to find out about whats happening on TV3..."
I'm starting to think it's rather Facebook trying to catch SL residents (and people from other websites) than other way around, and the wording comes from Facebook people rather than LL.

Improving our Lines of Communication with the Community

Lexbot--You’re absolutely right! One of the most important parts about User Groups is that we’re going to try to create a more representative group of Residents who can share their feedback and experiences from their unique perspectives. It’s up to each group, and the User Group leader, to determine what the right mix will be for each one.
I think you misunderstood. This is exactly what i was afraid of.
In human group dynamics, the group stives for becomming homogenic. People with different point of view are shut out and shunned away. Not by LL's invention, just how groups work, people gravitate towards like-minded individuals. Communication between individuals that tend to agree, instead of tending to disagree is easier.... life is simpler.
The way you propose it, there will be no need whatsoever for a group leader to include any residents with differenting views, and the focus groups risk to become self-focused.

Who will focus groups consist of?
It seems natural that you pick people interested in that perticular field. However, that is sort of like praying together with the already converted.
Take for an example Viewer 2 and the potential Viewer 2 focus group participants. I will guess that those will be people interested in viewer 2. While the most valuble feedback of what needs to be done, would come from people who dislike viewer 2 and after trying out, no longer use it.
A focus group won't be constructive if it consists of mutual back-patting.

I know there was a merge. ALL of the locations except one, are rated Mature. That means nobody under 18 can visit. Also, the teens are no longer from 13 years old, but start at 16.
This surely would have been interesting at the teen grid, 2 years ago.
