I also saw that you say it was a box symbol with a "no" over. This can be land permissions getting borked a short time because LL does some maintenance. The "copy selected" should still work on prims.

So you were able to rez one set? It should not be the floor that is an issue then. Try ctrl + alt + T to see if it is a red shape where you will rez. This can be from a rug, you will see the real size of the rug is much larger, or from a tree on the outside. (ctrl + alt + T takes you back to normal view)

A smart tip that saves me time when I rez many similar items like curtains: The edit box has a tab with a magic wand symbol for creating prims inworld. But the "copy selected" is genius. If you click on that and then click an object, it duplicates it. The benefit is that it is created in almost the same spot so you don't have to adjust every set of curtains up and down. Just use the edit tool and slide the new set of curtains over to the next window, and nudge it a bit closer to it. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Building_Tools

Of course this does not work on all mesh and you get that unable to rez or is it unable to copy message. I just decorated the house with wreath and garlands, and had to edit 26 of them in place.

Can you see some edge of the tattoo? Do you wear clothes with lace? It can be an alpha sorting issue.

Else, what Resi said. A Club is laggy and it can be a problem.

True, and I see a turn to the Genus head now. But it is 5500 L now, even more than Catwa and Lelutka.

They are the three big ones, this Halloween for the first time, I saw content made for Genus that wasn't offered for either Catwa, Lelutka or Omega. A sign?

Anyway, the Genus isn't an affordable alternative any more. Time will show if it's going to rise, or fall in popularity.

The animations and ease of use is what matters for me when I buy a head, not that I have to try and test a bunch of other facial AOs and hope it works, or that I must hunt down the few skins that look good on the head. The big brands like Catwa and Lelutka sell not just a head, but a system that is widely supported and makes customization so easy. I pay for that.

I tried some Omega appliers on it and it did not look good. It is a good buy if you want to use the included skin. Or maybe another skin from LAQ.

For my alt that need a special ethnic look, it is totally not it, can not use it even for free with a free HUD. But that is my problem, not others. I can not expect gifts that I want or need. It would probably not work for the majority.

I picked up the Emmanuelle avatar while I was looking around. For those who try the LAQ demo, maybe they should get that freebie, because it includes facial AO and maybe the animations, alt least some, work on the LAQ head.

I know nothing about LAQ heads. I do know that they put you on their mailing list, refuse to take you off, and change the mailer each time so you cannot block. Actually I MAY be off the list now as I did an AR on them and haven't seen anything late. BUT it was over a year trying to get off with notecards. So they are not on my "do business with" list :D.

I joined the Altamura group just to read the notices. I could not see anything about this special gift.

Maybe there will be a teaser.

I checked prices in the citys largest electronics store. They sell ready to use new computers.

I added up the cost of the Samsung 860 and a 4 GB memory to add, and one of the graphic cards discussed in previous posts,

and it equals a new computer with 4 GB memory, same as I have now, an Intel UHD Graphics 600 and a Intel Celeron two cores. They advertise it as strong and fast, maybe not the best for SL.

And the used market is in the same price range unless they start to call it "gamer".

It really looks like separate parts is the best for the money.

I hear some say the HUD might be on sale on boxing day, but that is a rumor. They offered it and the heads for half price on Black Friday. Maybe unrealistic to expect another sale like that so soon.

Best thing I can say is try the demo, and the HUD demo too. Other animations might work for it. I tested some briefly, and it's a 50/50.

Don't buy it unless you love it. I bought the LAQ 500 L offer last Christmas, and I never used it. It was an impulse buy and a waste of money. LAQ heads is really not my style, I wasn't thinking at all.

Yes, maybe, but in my country, even a used stationary cost more that the sums of the new components I listed here. A used quality one is 4 times the new component parts. That's gamer machines that might have run 8 hours a day. A new one is out of the budget, totally.

To buy a used one that's so-so in the components, no control of how it's used, might not let me run SL as I want it to run... without freezing so I must turn off.

I found out how to run a test and the SSD is a problem.

So a SSD 500 GB should be good enough? I was thinking Samsung 860 EVO Series MZ-76E500B 500GB.

And trying to get as much memory in it as I can afford. At least double to 8 GB.

I found that a brand new Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 ti is within my budget.

If I should trust the numbers, 1050 is better than 950 and 960. But I don't understand what's up with graphic cards, sometimes lower numbers are better than higher numbers.

How to rank these three:

If I take the risk of the used cards, is the MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB best? It is so close to my home that I can ask to see it run. If he's backing out, then I say thanks for your time.

It is wired, not wireless and a good and expensive connection.

Yet, SL is freezing on it. I tried Firestorm, Cool VL and even some other third party viewer (Singularity?) that is supposed to run smoothly, plus the official viewer

I have a laptop in the middle price range, not a gamer but decent, and I almost never have trouble on it. Only when I log in 3 avatars the same time, then things slow down. I am just tired of the small laptop screen, I want a big screen.

I am resurrecting an old pc. Well, I am trying, I am searching for components in my price range.

The GTX 560 ti was bought several years ago and I did a search for best value in the lower price range. I don't know much, I just search for things and try to trust what appear to be a honest review.

Where are we now? What is best for cheap?

And this is a really stupid question, if I buy a card private, is there any way to tell if it's worn out, or not?

I have one person offering a MSI GTX 950 2G on my country's version of Craigslist. They claim: "I thought I had time to build a pc, but did not, so I am selling this, never used".

And also another one offering a MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB, where the description reads: "Used for 3 years, in good shape, selling because I upgrade. Selling with electronic receipt."

Both of the cards above will be a huge upgrade from GTX 560 ti? Is it stupid to buy an used one, when I know so little about it?
