  1. Wow a response and I found it by absolute chance buried away....

Amanda I look forward to finding out more about these user groups and hopefully getting a few answers to suggestion/questions Ive been putting forward in a mass of questionaires - which pop up occasionally - for over 2 years....

Hopefully once I join these user groups which will hopefully tackle 'important' issues such as payment methods, tier charges , boundary crossing issues I'll get more of a response than any of your surveys yielded....

  2. Ive just read those community participation rules which basically mean you cant criticise Linden Labs or discuss their competition ( unless presumbaly youre a Linden top dog promoting facebook or twitter) and one rule would also clearly suggest that disputes be carried on in IM in world - so presumably its okay now to barrage some who disagrees with you abusive ims...at least thats what the 'rule' implies.

'Interpersonal Disputes or Personal Negative Commentary: If you  have a personal disagreement, do not post about it on the Second Life  community pages. Residents who have personal differences have other  channels of communication available to them — private messaging in the  forums, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life.'

    Improving communication ??

Don't you mean controlling communication ??

  3. Many of the steps I see Lindens taking too me usually indicate that Lindens dont want to do the job...

while many applaud the introduction of meshes, for example, I simply see this as a move which take the onus away from lindens to provide an up to date in world building system. You don't even build or work in world to create, the emphasis is on you to find software to create meshes. Natrually you have to pay to import your external creations too. Lindens dont have to provide the tools..they just take the money and run...

its the same story with viewers..where ever I wander I see more and more people using phoenix and very few using viewer two...

Promises regarding boundary crossing have gone unfulfilled...in fact Philip Linden resigned his post before the promised date for an end to boundary crossing issues was reached....

Now the suggestion seems to be that before Lindens will operate a properly run questions and answers forum you have to toddle off to other sites to get the info on sl... Why is there the apparent assumption that everyone has facebook....

  4. Why are some people writing essays on this...

All lindens need to know is that tiers are too high and need to be slashed...anyone who denies this fact either doesn't pay a tier, has money to burn or is simply cuckoo..

Posts like this have been spewed how for years, they do nothing for sl residents, they do nothing to encourage activity in sl...

I'd use the terms smokescreen for the real issues or more of the same old usless 'blah'

I can tell that they're already to regret that facebook remark though.....:D

  5. Land prices ( aside from areas by the seaside arent generally high) its the tier's that are high....

if you think land is too highly priced thats probably someone over ambitious - tier prices are down to linden management and I cant see why they dont have the sense to make changes to the tier systems and payment methods to give SL the boost it needs....

    Linden Lab's New CEO

    Hi Rod

My  hope is that you might get together with those of us who like to build  using the inworld building system and try and come up with new and  interesting ideas which expand on the system we use - providing an  alternative for those of us who simply dont want to tackle the  'complexeties ' of meshes and sculpties. Im hoping you might spot the  enjoyment in 'inworld' building which doesnt rely on using software  outside sl and importing the end producting in via upload...

Good luck in your new post.

  6. Incidentally I know that its not lindens fault that they charge VAT even if their efforts to set up any sort of European operation have been basically useless and pointless...but in the UK we have hefty VAT increases due in January - not Lindens prob maybe, but certainly if any tier increase is heaped on this...

Basically I think Lindens should be charging all nationalities their own charges in their own currencies - it immediately cancels out and shift in charges due to exchange rate shifts... I cant understand why we in Europe can't be charged at our own rates to take account of 'local ' differences....Surely easy enough using pay pal.

  7. Well to me sl needs more consumers... I reckon consumers will probably want the basics i.e. land and the tools to build...if they get hooked they'll want more land ..I know because thats what happened to me... I want my money spent on better inworld functions and features. Unfortunately Im not in sl to fund education especially not in the USA (as I see it Im paying my bit for the 'good' of my country via vat paid to lindens....)

The obvious way to attract more more paying consumers is to drop tiers and ENCOURAGE land sales... more land sold more tiers...

Its not - as they say - rocket science

  8. The whole issue of tier pricing needs re examining but I suspect nothing good or worthwhile is going to happen because if it was Philip would have been singing it from the roof tops at his inworld meeting several weeks back. Needless to say the matter of pricing and all matters relating to it never arouse....
