  1. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I believe there would most likely be trademark infringement issues unless the actual companies owning those brands were to bring their stores inworld themselves or license someone to do it for them.
  2. wonderful a switch to turn off that inane feature. however, how do we remove the drivel from the Home page posted by others? or is that in another thread? eta: typo correction
  3. So, when I am not on 'their' land, they have the right to message me and begin throwing vulgar epithets my way? Sorry, I wholeheartedly disagree on that one. Ban me, keep me off their land, I have absolutely no issue with that. Even feel free to IM me and tell me why - but in a civilized, adult manner, thankyouverymuch. No one has the 'right' to treat people the way this particular individual has and I'm sure continues to do.
  4. You are NOT alone! I feel most certain that I know the club you are talking about. I, too, saved logs of the chat in which this clubowner's language was absolutely uncalled for and I should have AR'd him for harrassment and anything else I could find in TOS. He has banned me twice in approx 2 years - once for saying I was 'advertising', because I had a pick in my profile concerning some land that I was thinking of developing. I guess we are all supposed to clear out all of our picks if we want to go to his place, let alone be sure to remove any tags above our heads declaring that we belong to another club or own some property somewhere in SL. After reasoning the matter with him he did let me back in. The second, final ban (final as I would not knowlingly, ever again, step foot on any property owned by him) was after a conversation in his group chat where someone directly asked me a question about a very hot topic at the time. I tried to direct the conversation out of the group as it had nothing to do with the club, the question was initiated due to a display name I was using at the time - it had the potential to lead to ugly discussions. That's when I received my tirade from this 'gent'. He IM'd me using the most vulgar language and informed me that he was banning me and 'my alts'. (I still wonder who he considers my alts and I hope some poor souls have not been banned on my behalf.) So much for 'class'. SLIfe does go on, quite well actually, without any need for me to spend any money or time at this person's venues. There are plenty of other, deserving folks/places, who do not handle their clientele in that manner and who do understand that SL is a large and diverse place. Those are the places I choose to spend my time and money. Should I have AR'd him? Probably so, but I do feel better having taken the high road. I kind of feel sorry for him actually...then again, ehhh, maybe not so much Hope by sharing this, it helps you move forward and dissipate your anger. I was at that point too, until I realized that it really isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things. I'm in SL for entertainment, not for wasting time on people like him.
  5. A group liability is usually a charge for continuing to be a member of the group - helping to support the costs of any land the group may own or other expenses. Sometimes this is an error as the owner or other allowed member of the gorup did not uncheck the boxes related to accounting when they created the role abilities. You might want to find out from the group owners/managers if this was an 'error' or an intended charge for all members who hold your same role. Or, you can quit the group to not be charged further. Hope this helps. Tini
  6. After speaking with Live Chat and being directed to the Jira to search, it seems there have been prior old, unresolved, issues with it... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3758 I'm currently using one of the Phoenix viewers, RC 1050 at the moment. Creating new picks does allow the correct land name to appear but using the 'Set Location' on an older pick to just update the location shows the incorrect land owner name. I've resolved the issue by recreating all my older picks and deleting the older ones, and am considering this closed.
  7. Hello all. I have just updated the location for some of my profile picks since they were linked to previously owned land and I want to have them linked to my current land. However, after pressing 'Set Location' on the specific pick, while standing on my parcel and hitting 'ok', the pick then shows someone else's name before the name of the location when I view the pick. I have no idea who the individual is or even if they had owned the land prior to me. I did not buy it from this individual and the land is set to my group - this person is not a member of the group. Is anyone else having this issue? I logged off and back in but it still shows the same incorrect info. Perhaps I need to request a region reboot? This is mainland, not a busy sim by any means. I would appreciate knowing if anyone else has had this problem and how it was resolved. Thanks! Tini
  8. Yes, I just saw that after my last post. I used the secure site to go to the Marketplace and, this time, received the certificate error. Yet when using the http:// link, http://marketplace.secondlife.com, there is no error but, yes, there is a redirect. All I can say is ???? I dunno. ETA: corrected link: http://marketplace.secondlife.com (removed the period from the link as it brought up a new error.) /me sighs and logs off the forums for the night
  9. True, Lord, that may be certificate issues...but may also be a cache problem? If it's loading an old page, I believe there were some certificate issues approximately a month or so ago. However, on FF4 (and prior versions), I clear cache each time I close my viewer. I am not getting any errors at all on the Marketplace. Other than using a cached file, I can't see how a site certificate would be invalid to only a few users and not to all. Not that I'm all that savvy about those things.
  10. I also use Firefox but have nothing showing in red when I go to the Marketplace. Perhaps you need to check that you are indeed using the correct addresss - https://marketplace.secondlife.com. Unless there is some other 'New Marketplace', I think you may be at a spoof site. Hope this helps.
  11. Hi Micala, the problem of trying to wear the item that you put back into your inventory may be related to SL. There have been a number of issues for various residents (discussed in a number of groups that I'm a member of). So, it may not be anything that you are doing wrong. As long as you select the item in your inventory, right click and 'wear' it, it should appear.
