  1. After you have selected a destination from the list, hover your mouse over 'teleport' and the name of the sim (and the coordinates) will show at the bottom left of your browser. Make note of the sim name, open your grid map inworld and key in the name.  You will see the number of residents currently on the sim.

If you are getting a location from the DG and teleporting into someone's private home, then the DG has the incorrect coordinates.  Unfortunately, I do not know who to contact regarding this but you could type a comment under that particular DG location.

    Hi Lilly,

Another thing to is don't just send out a friend request (which I'm pretty sure you know).  Talk to the person first ,
even if it is just a 'hi'
.   And from there on in , just be YOURSELF!   You will do fine!   Have fun in your SL !

I would caution Lilly that just saying 'hi' may not get her anywhere. It is probably the most boring way to initiate a conversation other than 'U wanna sex?'.  My advice is to perv profiles and find someone who seems to share some of your interests, use that as a starter. For example, "Hi :)  I couldn't help noticing in your profile that you love to explore art sims.  I do, too. Have you seen the <name of location> yet?"  You may get a response, you may not (the person could be afk or chatting with someone else). Don't let that stop you from trying again.

I agree with the suggestion to beef up your profile. Maybe someone will perv yours and say something to you.  Don't wait around for them to do so, though. You have nothing to lose by generating some starters yourself.  Good luck!

  3. I don't try to explain SL or my avatar to many outside SL. The few times I have, I just call it a 'game' and leave it at that.  Venus is an aspect of me, not separate from and not exactly 'me'.  I am myself when chatting with friends inworld. I haven't created a separate persona for Venus other than she has been a DJ in SL for 7 years and has never had that experience in RL.

I don't feel physically inworld when inworld, but I feel immersed certainly.  If I am in IM chatting with someone and they are not in the same virtual space with me, then Venus is usually standing or sitting at home, sometimes at another sim snapping photos, or just hanging out.  I am primarily focused on the conversation.

  4. If someone in SL pings me for the first time with 'Hi' and then 'Where are you from?'.  I generally reply 'Hi. I live on Tranquility Dreams sim.  Where are YOU from?'  I don't mind sharing my RL location with someone with whom I've had some good conversation and meeting of minds prior to.  Jumping straight to RL information seems rude to me. Don't know why. It just does.

Terrible of me to start a topic and then disappear.

Yes I know I may have been stating the obvious.  But perhaps I had a small twinge of hope that what I said might kindle a spark of awareness in the
    νους of the unaware.

As dificult as it is for a Martian to admit, we know we are not perfect. We get close but alas it eludes us too.  Damn that Bunny.

If a girl with a loose blouse leans over in front of me am I evil for peeking?
Or am I just being sentient?

I can't speak for all women, only myself and the answer is 'no'.   In fact, if I catch you peeking, I might bend a bit more. :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:

  6. The items within a saved outfit are just links to the original items in your inventory. You can safely delete those outfits (assuming they are all linked items) without harming the originals in your inventory. Just check the saved outfit first if you are not sure.  The linked items will each have 'link' in parentheses next to each item.

  7. One way to generate interest in your work is to create an account in Flickr and join some groups.  You can upload images to Flickr from your hard drive.  It helps to build a base of followers and those you follow.

You can consider renting a space in SL where you can display your art and sell it there as well.  Look for galleries inworld where people do just this type of thing.

    Good luck!

  8. There is an Answers forum where questions can be posted.

Do you name the outfit you save?  When you  name the outfit, do you see it in the Outfit folder (with it's component parts)?  When you click on the saved outfit, do you pick 'replace' or something else?

Outfits are working in the Firestorm viewer.

So I've seen about the umpteenth person as I was perving profiles to have a pick about them saving chats and using them for their own purpose. How did this all start and what are people really trying to convey by saying this?

It's very curious to me, because I've found that this stupid warning really makes me scared to talk to these people, not because I have anything to hide, but because
it makes them seem sort of dickish.
Am I missing a bigger picture, like this is a way of protesting LL saving our logs? Or perhaps are these people just trying to scare off strangers?

    Bingo.

its really sad thats how you see what i wrote and this is what you understand from it!

first of all , i will never take credit for any job i didnt do.
i am the LAST person who will steal   talent of someone else, moreover if you mean by "take all credit to myself" to "earn money from other's works" you know i dont mind about money or profits/fame, the person can take it all to himself because he owns it and earned it!
    .

I do know how to edit a picture, i did it before and i can do it again. to say  im the best and professional? no i aint but its a fact. it wont look the best but hey , i keep trying!

and so what if i have mesh body! i just said i like mesh body , i saw a lot of really nice looking avatars who dont have mesh body! why you make it sound like im trying to say thats all i have to offer?

so im good at organizing , promoting on web, editing videos, deal with all the tech stuff , taking pictures and make sure it looks the best and nothing is cutted or anything like that, do creative ideas for photoshoots.

all i wrote in this post i am looking for a friend who wants to create more in sl and share stuff like fashion on a blog!

now tell me whats the problem?

The biggest problem is that your quotes above are not from my post. I do not know who you are quoting, but I did not say those things.

I would suggest that you start out with the 'bones' of a blog so that you can show any potential 'hobby friend' your ideas.  Do not say what you can do, show them.  Good luck!
