You do understand that ALL clothing textures in SL are sized to 512, the moment they're applied to the avatar, right? This is true, regardless of the original image size. No matter what the size of the individual texture, when you wear it on your avatar, it becomes part of the outfit composite, and that composite consists absolutely of 512x512's. There's no way to change that. Whether you wear a 1024x1024, or an 8x8, or anything else in between, it gets resized to 512x512 as soon as you put it on. This is a fundamental fact of how SL's avatar system works. So, the question here is why is SL's resizing algorithm producing better looking results for you than Photoshop's resizing algorithm? As I said a moment ago, it's most likely because you're using the wrong resampling options in Photoshop. There are many to choose from, and they all work differently. Next time you go to resize an image, take a good look at the Image Size dialog. Notice at the bottom, under where it says "Resample Image", there's a dropdown menu. Click on that, and you'll see all the various options that Photoshop can employ when resizing. It's a little beyond the scope of this forum to go into detail about what they all are, and when to use each, but it is important you learn them well. I'd strongly recommend you read up on them, and do a lot of practicing with them, so you can develop a good sense of when to use which for what. By making intelligent decisions about which method to use each time, in accordance with what's in the imagery, and what you want to do with it, you'll be able to do a much, much, MUCH better job of preserving details through resizing than SL's "one size fits all" automatic resizing scheme ever could. ok, so i have more time now to look better at what you said. First i dont want to be studborn, but i still hear from a lot of great designer that say they use 1024 size... but well, i m ok to try what you said. My designs are usually highly detailed and i will see by myself if this make a difference. I understand easily that normally, photoshop should make a better resize than sl, this make sense indeed. So i started on my vendor pics, since i dont need so great details on them, but it will allow me to be used to this method before using it on my layer templates. so ive checked the dropdown menu in the bottom of my resizing menu. First my resample image box is checked. the option settled in the bottom is : bicubic (best for smooth gradients). Can you tell me what is the best one ? ah and my current size for my vendor pics are 1024 X 512 since its a rectangle. :

  3. Well i just checked it again, and i nothing is highlighted except the name of my item what get me to the item page. So i cant delete it at all...and at the right the 'active" button cant be clicked. Well as long as they dont charge me, if they want absolutely to make ad for my item, im not against the idea lol. see the ridiculous of the way to work of the MP : i pay for one week enhancement this summer and i never saw it on, they surely put it in the ad pot luck.... Now i didnt asked anything, neither paid for anything, and well, they insist to make ad for one of my item....Sometimes, its better to not look for understanding and let it go as it is....Sounds like LL moves in mysterious ways....:smileywink:

  5. ok, lol, so i understood well hehhehehe. ive found the way recently in a forum thread but i cant find it again grrrr anyway, here's what i did, : go in your settings and in the signature field add this : <a href="add here your url/">add here the display name of the link</a> normally it should work fine. just add the url and the display name in the right places. :smileywink:

Merchant Home > Reports > Listing enhancements. But terminated enhancements are automatically removed after a period of time, so you might not be able to see it anymore if it terminated in August. I had those too, so I manually cancelled them. yes yes i know how to see my enhancement reports, but i was asking about an history. so i think you answered my question. No history for enhancements. . Something to add to the long list for improving the market place so. Now about cancelling the non asked enhancement... it doesnt let me. i cant click anywhere on the report except on my item name that open my item page. If i edit my item, i can see from the first day, that it is for not renewing. But after 5 weeks its still on ! Maybe they had a lack of enhancement for this page so they take my item to fill the ads ? Lol, im joking. More seriously, how did you cancelled yours ?
  9. well since it happened on an ad i paid for in august, i dont see any enhancement detail history in my mp account. maybe there is one, but in this case, pls tell me where i can get this. btw while i was searching for an enhancement detail history, i just noticed that the ad they gave me for free on october, bec of the mess of the enhancement billing that happened in september, is still active. And guess what. i really see this one on the top of the category page. This is again, an obvious evidence of how seriously they manage the MP. And i will now have to check daily if they charge me for this ad i never asked for. So they display ad, pp didnt asked for and they dont display ad that pp pay for. Well done. Absolutely well done. So if the deal is "Ok we take your money, and same ammount no matter we display your ad 1 time or 10 k times", im not interested. Thanks. And since these ads never had a lot of effects on my MP sales, i will for now avoid to order them and focus on more sure ways to advertise my products.
  10. this happened to me aswell this summer. Since the day i fig out that my enhancement ive paid for has never been displayed, i stop paying for any enhancement in the market place. And my sales there didnt lower. So now im even doubting about their effectiveness.

Chosen, you seem to know really well about what you are saying, and thanks for your advices, i will take a look later and quietly to what you explained, (i also need to translate it correctly in french). As you can see im not the only one who have my way to do, but i, indeed, know im not a pro photoshoper, and even if i deed 4 hours a week for only studying it with books, since some monthes now, and even if i practice in photoshop since almost 3 years now, i aknowledge easily the fact that i still have to learn a lot about this software and this is why i ve bought books to learn it better. Sadly, for now, i have a so busy schedule till the the next 4 days that i wont be able to look better at your explanation. but after this week end, i hope all will calm down and i will have time to study carefully what you advice here. So after trying what you advice to me, i will of course let you know how i feel about this. Thanks a lot for giving time for your explanations. :smileyhappy:

  13. lol yes, you win a point. as i said before i agree with you on the vendor pics. Hopefully i will find someday a lil couple of hours for changing their sizes. But then again.. as i told before aswell, the longest for loading is the building itself and no my vendors, and i suspect it to have 1024 textures aswell. but since im not the creator i cant change this. For the clothes layer, i swear it make a difference when you look close. From a normal distance, its ok, you are rigth there is not really difference. But on tiny details, when you look close, if its 512, details are often blury... while this doesnt happen with a 1024 size. I really dont think im an exception, ive read often here in the forum, fashion designers saying they prefer to use 1024 rather than 512. As i said it depend on what you are doing and where are your priorities.
  14. lol you scared me hehhehe.. but i know my english is bad, and on top, despite the fact that use photoshop since 3 years now, i often imagine pp know what im talking about lol... So for 1024 files, yes i m a 1024 fan lol. Maybe because i use tiny details on my outfit layers and ive notice a difference when i upload them in 512. Usually my photoshop is set on 1024 so its the size i use the more often, even for my adpics and my vendor pics. But for some things, like some skirt panel, i switch to 512 when they are not so detailed because then it fit better the prim wiithout needing to change a lot the texture settings in sl. It really depend. And for tiny prims like the one i use for jewellery i can use sometimes lower sizes aswell. I know that 1024 are a lil more slow to load, but its a real tiny difference of delay IMHO. and for me it really worth it. btw, for my vendor pics, i think it would be better i load them in 512, but im too lazy for changing them now lol... so they keep as 1024 lol. Indeed they would load faster if they were in 512 but when i see the time that my building (not made by me) need to be load, well, ... my vendors are faster hehehheheh.
  15. yeah... english is not my native language and when its a matter to explain tecnical things its a lil like a brainteaser for me. so, indeed, i was meaning about alpha channel and no alpha layer. Sorry. Nevertheless, i dont agree with you about file size. When i upload a 512 file and a 1024 one i can see a real difference on the details when i look closer. As i said, not always, and i use sometimes 512 one for some purpose and i can even use lower size too. My laptop is not the most powerfull and my internet speed is not what i would call a real speedy one.. nevertheless i have no problem at all for loading my textures and i had never any complaint about this from my customers. So some pp are more likely for 512 and some others for 1024. I dont think ones are right and others are wrong, its just a matter of preference. :smileywink:
  16. Hi... i really dont see how you do for having a jagged edges texture if you do clean edges in your pshop file. templates have to be on top of an transp layer. Then, i save mines as png (bec TGA doenst support the transp layer) and as 1024 px, (bec the details are better, and i know.. it needs more time to be load,but i prefer qualtiy Vs fast things :smileywink:) for my main templates, but i can use also some 512 ones for some purposes . Are you sure your edges on the pshop files are not bleeding ? take a look with the zoom. if its not the case and the png format doesnt fix your pb, contact me inworld, ill take a look to your templates.:smileyhappy:

Well, Snow... if you need a tutor, i can do this for you, but, --im french timezone, so check before if you think you can match with my hours. -- you will have to deal with my bad english lol... -- i wont have a full time for you because im already busy with my SL business + my RL, so you will need to be patient and learn step after step. In another hand, I usually have a lot of patience for teach in SL, so dont be afraid to ask silly questions, or to not be good at the first try. I can help you for customize your avatar and give you some good tips for runing better SL (and the first one will be to use Firestorm viewer instead of the official viewer) I can give you tons of good LM for hanging out, I wont be able to go with you there most of the time, but well, since im exploring sometimes myself, we can do it together. So if you are intersted, knowing you wont learn all in only one day, and that i wont be able to give you all my sl time, you can contact me inworld. :smileyhappy:

  19. well, my fear here is that its deliberate. If we consider now the new bug system, and the way they have to not consider what we are sending them as feedback in the forum, i think its a legitimate fear. They talk to us as a group, but when its a matter to take answer from us, they want us as single persons. I really hope im wrong. i hope that its not their new communication strategy.. After the bug report system, its now the feedback system that has to be individual, secret and with closed question... what will be next ? @Ziggy, no, i think youve misunderstood me.. im not ranting about this survey in particular, but about this on top of several other communication lacks that happened recently. If everyone could see the result of the survey, then it could be a good thing, indeed. i really do think that one's can feed its thougth knowing about others one's thoughts. Keeping thinking alone in a corner, does not make raise thought in good way. Its my opinion. Just mine.

And if you check your keywords in 6 monthes you will surely ask yourself the same question. As i said in another thead, keywords indexation is far from being an exact science. 2 diff persons wont give the same keywords for a same item. And even the same person wont give the same keywords on different days. lol.. The only thing we can do is to try to make this the more conscientiously we can, but there is not perfect indexation. :smileywink:
  22. Lol Lucrezia, i wasnt talking about you in particular. I was just expressing a feeling about what i feel everyday in RL and SL.... Pp like more and more fast and easy things and they want to avoid any efforts... I just think its shame bec without any effort i dont think there can be any worthwhile reward... But well, its just my opinion.. i dont judge anyone ... i just feel this as sad.   23. So this morning, i found by chance the New post from the commerce team. Ok, they announce new categories on the Market place what is a good thing. But then, some bitterness came to me.. They announced the new categories in the forum. Not by individual email notification. They use the forum as a way of communication. That's a good thing indeed. But then.... they started the post with a "We'd like to hear from you!". Ok guys ! No worries... But ....Ah ! yes, its a no reply post !.... Weird... they use the forum to communicate toward us, but we cant use it to send them our feeback.... hum.... ok... i see a link....i click on it.... so its a form with closed questions and closed categories... just like when we submit a ticket or the new bug report system... So its ok for LL to come here in the forum to communicate with us, but its not ok for us to send them our feedback the way we choose to do it. All is locked. We have to answer in a secret way that only LL will be able to read our feedback...(they just dont care to get a thousand times the same feedback.... do they really read them ?).... The more shame in this is that they private us to feed our thought with others opinions. And on top of this.... we are only allowed to answer on closed question in closed categories. This is not what i call "We'd like to hear from you" . LL should have add at the end of their sentences ..." in the way we want you to talk to us"... they didnt invented anything... this exist since old old ages.... when a group start to be bothering, the solution is to divide it and to individualize the problems.... One person will always be less powerfull than a group. since some weeks now, we have writen and writen many feedbacks, questions, requests in this forum to the LL Team.... Instead of reading us and answering us, they made a list of things to do that displays obviously they didnt read what we writed. But it seems, that now they go a step further. First the jira system is going to a secret bug report system.. and now, even feedbacks are asked in a secret way... A famous forum chipmunk adviced to LL last week to make the forum secret aswell...They should also put closed categories and closed questions in it... and even... they should put already made sentences list and we will have to choose in them to write a post.... This would be the perfect "Your world, your imagination", no .?
  24. my opinion is that they are not better but just different. the 2 methods have good and bad points. I wouldnt say like Icade : "No more jacket prims going through the avatar as it moves woo!" because i still can see my arms going thru mesh dresses and this is not 'woo'. they are not so flexible as prims for some parts. in particular for loose skirts. I mean there is nothing more sexy to see a skirt display some parts of the legs while an avi is walking bec the skirt blows in the wind. Meshes can't do this. They distort also textures in the same way than prims. And to finish, they make look fat specially from the butt. So my conclusion, is that meshes are great for several clothes but not for all. They can be great for tops, for tight dress (since the prims and layers ones are more than ugly), for jackets and short and tight skirt, but i still prefer my old style clothes for the remaining. I know a lot of famous creators that dont do meshes and they are still my favorites for a lot of clothing style, dispite the fact i can also buy some tight dress in mesh. For me the main thing on a clothe is the texture, and not the shape used. But well, im sure you will find here a lot of mesh fans that will explain how mesh clothings are the super extra thing you must have in your inventory. Time will tell.....
  25. well, if this can help you : As someone said already, you cant list it under complete avatar because its not a complete avatar. After checking MP categories list, i would have list your item under : Avatar appearance>Avatar component>Avatar Skin and shape combinations>Other avatar bases (or female bases). I know its not perfect. and you wont never find the perfect category because there are no perfect categories, never. But at least, i can tell you that its the place i would go and search for products like yours if i was looking for this kind of item. For the other products you see wrongly listed in fantasy category, just tell you that one day or other they will be flaged and removed too. Anyway, its not a good strategy for the merchants to put their items in wrong list, because when they do this, they are only expecting sales by chance and not by purpose. So its simply a bad calculation. Edited : do it under the fantasy community of course :smileywink: there are only 11 items in this page. so you wont be flooded by the other items .
