Okay been around sl a long time ... I think I'm a "sweet summer child".

I don't like the idea of actual child avatars run by adults breastfeeding. Are there infant avatars out there run by adults? I'm curious. I know breastfeeding is natural but ... there are so many kinks associated with it in sl it seems icky here. As for animesh babies .. I see no problem there's not back and forth roleplay between the two. I'm sure someone could make it dirty if they tried hard enough too though.

I'm beginning to feel more hardline about all this than I use to because of all this pushing to look as young as possible being brought up in this thread recently. I use to just give people the benefit of the doubt and let them be. I'm not sure that's the best course to follow anymore. Where can I get my mom's for liberty membership card again?

I had that kind of reaction to this post too.. along with can we not start another "therapy" conversation. Second life isn't here for that kind of therapy and it's been against TOS for a very long time. It's starting to make me sick when edge players bring it up.. with urges ect. This isn't real life it's second life and it has rules to follow. Let the real life authorities handle the rest out there.

But some people won't be polite ... and in that case the child avatar should move on. Also just to throw that out there. I'm sure there are lots of general rated beaches to while away the hours on.. especially if a child avatar choses to go afk. The Blake Sea.. on your own boat just passing others shouldn't be a problem.

Reading through most of this after having a sleep I decided to spew a little. People were talking about why these changes are being done earlier and this is my take. Sure a great deal of why the changes are happening is appearances.. cause that's what keeps a business going. Second life's general reputation isn't that good from an outsiders view point.. Oh that sex game?? But the reputation comes from where a huge chunk of the money rolls in for sl .. which is basically sex or romance related on some level. And before the omg I never do that people come after me. I am linking it to clothing, products, housing, venues, romantic and dating life which could be reaching all the way to everything we do here. From horse riding to skydiving. We gotta house most of these people that like to play as adults, cloth them, and entertain them and make them feel safe staying here. Yes the latter could be said for children, but what adults do, imagine doing, hope to do ect.. even if gross to some insiders or outsiders isn't tainted with the possibility of being illegal.. and even worse the possibility of allowing illegal activities to fester. What money source do you give up? The legal sex-related one that can be repulsive to some outsiders or the possible illegal one? I think they are making changes for for many adult residents also, but again it is also to cover their butt. There has been basically a protest over this. You tube videos made ect. Why I am leaving sl type of videos. Do you think if the same videos were made by people representing child avatars defending their right to have a pee-pee to keep their emotional well being intact or even just to save themselves some expense would amount to a hill of beans to outsiders looking in? Yah..nope. It would be a laugh your butt off session. Even more, things go viral in a blink now... Some major actual ***** story goes viral now and it's major . It's investigation time.. with the public looking on. They had a taste of that recently .. at least the uproar that it causes in a smaller circle. So what do you do? Yeah cover your butt if you're smart, and they are doing that for very good reason. Every major business has some sort of risk team built in and I'm sure theirs has been going round and round. It's silly to think the crying of .... oh but emotional damage over not being able to keep my kid wee-wee is going to fly with a team like that? You adults playing kids have to grow up for a short while and look at the wider picture and it's implications for the longevity of this platform in today's world and climate. I'm sure losing some accounts has been taken into account already. As well as some stability and even possible growth resulting from the changes.

Yes I have thought of that. But for me it comes back to if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... it's probably a duck. I just think it would be better if people could hide some groups if they actually go between a general playstyle and an adult one. And once again my probably unpopular stance is maybe you should have separate avatars. I meant to say accounts... for separate entities.

One thing that bothers me though is profiles. Uggh. Someone says they do family roleplay .. say it's a male. He's got his kids in his picks and they are underage. He's in spanking groups and other sex groups or barely legal groups. It's just so ick. I've seen this with women and men. Or there's a woman on her profile with a mile long list of sex groups and in her picks she'll say she roleplays as a kid or a teen often providing the picture and backstory for her roleplay. Wrong thinking or not I see profiles like that as an invitation. I wish the new standards could address this somehow.

This is me I usually stay in adult places so mostly I see the ones that are skirting the edge if I notice them at all. I don't usually bother to do anything personally because they are not usually looking 12 to me. If I were in charge of the place though it would be a different story. I'd have to AR some and just ask others to leave.

No offense at all meant by this @Arielle Popstar but if you present as on the edge you are going to be approached by those types and or they will be attracted to you because of how you look even if they don't say this out loud. As the relationship matures I'd think that's when the trouble could start because you feel close to them at that point and they might open up to you more about their kinks within... or outside of sl.. that's when the pushing for this or that starts. My advise is to nip it now. Whatever happened in the past I dunno.. but I doubt it would come back to bite you now though if you go forward knowing what's on the radar now.

Personally I think people should keep adult and child roleplay accounts separate. No switching back and forth. Is that realistic with how old accounts are ..not really, but this might be a good time for some to really think about making their account with all the adult goodies on it their adult roleplay account and open a new fresh and innocent roleplay account for underage.. especially for child roleplay accounts. I mean if you have to start from scratch as a kid avatar anyway why not just do it?

They need to not give into pressure because their account could be at stake.

I would think it would be really hard but there are screenshot zealots out there and other ways I'm sure people could be tripped up or found out eventually. This could lead to more restrictions on how people appear would be my guess. Even less skirting the edge would be allowed. People that push the envelope usually get tripped up.

In my opinion you don't. People have to say I'm roleplaying as under 18 in their profile ... chat or interactions with others to be considered underage. It's a gray area. I have a feeling a lot of teen roleplayers over 15 are so are going to decide to age up because of this. If you are AR'd with back up evidence though that you are still roleplaying as underage I would assume you could still end up banned if the evidence (chat logs ect.. ) reveals that.

Alpha masks can come off easily just by putting on something else.. and I'm not suggesting that it's something lewd by saying that. My items come off all the time because I hit "wear" by mistake.. or worse yet put on a whole folder. Even alpha cuts can be glitchy on the bodies they can go on and off with glitches or if a certain clothing isn't made right. As for BOM undies.. the same thing applies it can come of very innocently when you try something else on or do something by mistake. I think the skin rules allow no oppsie accidents either innocent or not. All bases are covered. I do want to say something else about this in general. I see a lot of people trying to buck the system already over these rules in this thread.... saying I won't or they won't know. I wonder how many of them are going to end up banned and then go crying that they did nothing wrong on other forums. I can even see the Lindens trying to educate them on rules and being met with protests in return instead of compliance with the rules leading to actual bans.

This is how I see that senerio.. usually. Then again there are all sorts of things allowed in the privacy of a home on moderate land as long as you can't view them from the outside easily. BDSM devices, graphic pictures ect. I would think it would be a case by case thing.. that's where my iffy comes in. People are expected to use their best judgement and some .. just don't.

I think the addendum makes it clear though. "The presence of adult content does not warrant the expectation of use." At least to me. So this says to me they can shop without fear on moderate land... and they can live in houses that have sex furniture on moderate land. However if mom and dad or ... whoever they invite home that is an adult wants to do the dirty the kids gotta go for awhile. I do think it's all pretty iffy either way.

I wondered about this also, after the two months or so they could just start yanking a compiled list of bodies?

I'm wondering about the second shall not: -Engaging or participating in any event or location where nudity and/or sexual activity is present, encouraged and/or expected. Does this mean events that are hosted on moderate land featuring skins without a censor strip or sexy clothing will be off limits to child avatars? I know when I go to moderate land I stay pretty covered up although some of what I wear might be sheer, but I see everything hanging out in those areas .. especially in the way a good number of visitors dress. I would guess too that families that live on moderate land where the adults do the dirty might be off limits to children also? Or will it be "Honey.. we need to send little Susie to daycare today... cause it's DATE night" I'm just having my morning coffee so if it's been discussed I apologize.

I've changed to 3 different mesh bodies in two years... more over the years in general. I remember when mesh was the new big thing. Things change and adaptions have to happen. This is one of them. Some items maybe salvageable.. heads most likely will fit on new bodies so the head and hair could be saved. If you go with the same maker they might be able to redo bodies people are already using.

I wouldn't be surprised if some forward thinking creator came out with a kind of rapid solution for this. The modest layer part... Perhaps even a freebie with more to come. Could land them some sales in the future.

You have almost two months before you need to take action on the modesty layer part. I'd suggest looking to the maker of your body/skin for now and if they aren't around anymore focus on finding a new active creator. Join those groups and see what is going to be done there. There will be new items made. I feel bad for you on this. If time is getting short you might have to change into an alternate avatar for a little while. It's all doable.
