  1. Honestly super frustrated. About 75% of the decor in my home, and a TON of accessories I have, are gacha items. Why? Because 50L for a spin at a gacha to get an item when I typically want most pieces of the set anyway, is a steal. And if I only want one piece? Half the time it's cheaper on the MP than as an actual gacha spin. Now those items won't exist anymore or will probably be sold in packs for MUCH more than the individual spins cost for small trinkets anyway. And what about gacha avatars? The concept of full avatar gachas were awesome and several creators put out some really neat content. No more of that I guess. Taking gachas away because of gambling addiction is a weak excuse; gacha games i.e Genshin Impact are super scummy BECAUSE you have no alternate route to buy the items you want directly. You're forced to buy spins over and over and over until the rigged RNG gives you the thing you want out of hundreds of potential items. SL gachas never had this problem because you can just flat out buy from gacha resellers, trade with friends, and resell what you don't want. There's no loss to playing them because if you don't want the item, chances are it's an item someone else has been wanting. You can't do any of that in gacha games that are actually problematic and prey on gambling addictions, you're just forced to keep buying or give up.
  2. https://i.gyazo.com/b676486a564e1238e34a3692ded1c79a.mp4 For some reason the shadows just kinda do this on this one parcel my friend and I are renting. It's not an eep/windlight thing, it happens even on Midday preset and seems to affect only things with alpha blending. It's very weird. Anyone know the cause?
  3. Honestly since midday is the worst, it's actually really nice to use when I work on skins. I basically make it look nice in midday and use midday in the ad images. If it looks good in midday, it'll look good on better lighting settings too. It being the most "neutral" light helps a lot too.
  4. Yeah I think I saw those, unfortunately I don't really like the look of them-- they're a bit too flat. I don't mind the LI being a bit higher just for more depth, just preferably nothing under 20 or 15 considering there are fully enterable small houses for around that, but still could go higher for something that looks nice. I have a feeling what I'm looking for doesn't exist though haha
  5. Anyone know of any relatively low land impact, unenterable, cute looking mesh house props? Preferably in a pastel or light color. One of my friends has a skybox on some land and I was planning to add a teleporter to and from it on the ground floor via a mesh house solely for decor if such a thing exists.
  6. I wouldn't entirely be opposed if SL had some sort of way for newbies to obtain free L very slowly, and that's coming from someone who's a creator and has passive income. I feel like if done well, it could be a really good way to retain new players and give them something to work toward just by being in-world; one of the biggest reasons for newbies dropping SL aside from the interface being a bit counterintuitive is the lack of a "goal" per se and everything feeling overwhelmingly expensive. Like, I wouldn't at all be opposed to optional Dailies being added like what you'd see in MMOs. Something as simple as earning a tiny bit of L every day you log in consecutively. Maybe after logging in every day for a week you get 1L-7L depending on what you did in those days? The Destination guide is a thing and a bit outdated; could always get more traffic to locations by there being a daily to visit x specified Destination to earn a linden you'd get by the end of the week, etc. If you don't go visit it, you don't get anything, so it's totally optional and there's a bit of work you'd have to put in + some added incentive to explore the world. Could always have it so that you don't get your payout if you break your "streak" and don't log in, therefore having to restart. Of course, these are all just suggestions/ideas; I definitely know this would get wonky with alt accounts and people using bots and could be abused, which is why I proposed Dailies and such. They could be a bit more complex than just "go to x destination" to make it a bit more difficult/obnoxious for people to farm with alts, but not totally sure. Though just as with anything, it's not totally foolproof and that's the biggest issue when it comes to this sort of thing. I would also say that the L earned in this way should absolutely be account-bound in some sense so you can't transfer it or cash it out, but that'd probably be a huge nightmare to work into the existing system.
  7. Sorry I haven't checked back on this thread in a while after asking lol- I'm not sure sure it's the first suggestion. It happens even when I'm wiggling my camera around beyond the bounds of my parcel in a totally barren empty mainland lot, so it's not because of items derendering. IIRC at the time of that gyazo I didn't have any trees or anything up at the time of taking em (now I do to fill out the land a bit) either so the only thing behind the camera was the view of the empty lot. If it's lights not being rendered anymore that's even more confusing because there aren't any external lights being rendered that could be causing it. It's from the environment itself. About 90% of the time the parcel looks dark and nice but then suddenly the red light filter springs up at certain angles and I'm not totally sure what to do about it, so I just ended up changing the environment setting (which is unfortunate bc I liked how that one looked aside from sudden red filter flickering in).
  8. I've been having the same issue. All of Firestorm (and the LL viewer, and other viewers too) locks up (Not Responding) for anywhere from 3 to sometimes up to 20 seconds like it's going to crash at random. It's not eating CPU or Memory when it happens. The really frustrating thing is it worked fine without this issue on my other laptop that was worse in every way with far lower specs (1050ti vs 1660ti). It almost seems to coincide with when new things render/load in but I'm not entirely sure. Like, on my parcel where I stay 99% of the time I can go upwards of an hour without a freeze sometimes. If I'm in an empty skybox way up in the sky just working on an avatar skin even less so. But exploring? That's impossible now, I freeze for long bouts every 1-5 minutes and it's just not an enjoyable experience. It really bums me out.
  9. Has anyone else gotten this? I was just posting a response to the technical question I posted, gave a simple no answer, and my post is highlighted in red now and I got a brief toast saying "Your content will need to be approved by a moderator". First time I've seen something like that.
  10. Nope, I saw that being an issue when trying to look up solutions, but he doesn't have it.
  11. Not a mouse issue, it disappears only in Firestorm. Both on the splash screen and in-world. Outside of it it works fine. The cursor vanishes entirely, he can still click on things he just can't see where he's clicking. The problem first occurred when he fullscreened the window, but reverting it didn't seem to fix things.
  12. Anyone else have this issue? I've got a friend who's really new to SL, only days old. When he opens Firestorm his mouse cursor just vanishes. His specs are as follows, this is a screen he took.
  13. Is friday considered a weekend? I've always known it as normal work hours-- didn't know it was considered a weekend for LL. Just in general it feels odd there's no moderation on weekends, but ah well. Guess I didn't really consider the possibility of there not being staff that handles fri/sat/sun days.
  14. Three days so far this stuff has been allowed to sit there, and now there's even MORE gross nsfw content up. I've lost count of how many times things have been reported if you tally up me and my friends' reports. Considering the nature of the content itself I'm disappointed its been taking so long to get anything done about it.
  15. Yup, which is why it'll be frustrating if nothing gets done about it. Like, I have a couple pieces of furniture with adult menus but they're: 1. Inside a building/skybox, 2. never really used and just there as decor. This stuff is very obviously not decor, it looks hideous, it's haphazardly strewn around the ground floor, it's right out in the open and it's accompanied by nsfw images too. It's super distasteful and I'm mostly frustrated my friend who's totally new to SL will possibly see that considering the reputation SL has to begin with + how YIKES the content is in the first place over there. It's also annoying having to use precious land impact just to put up privacy walls/hedges that don't look trashy and terrible too.
  16. I'd rather not get in touch with the land owner. Their profile and the material they have strewn about their lawn tells me all I need to know about them. If they don't have any qualms with calling people nazis flippantly and having graphic images and nsfw content revolving around animals slapped all over their parcel's floor then they really don't seem like the kind that'd listen to... well, anything. And I don't want to provoke them moreso. The spammy naked fullbright greeter close to the banline directly facing my parcel seems too convenient to just be a coincidence as it is. I'll look into submitting an abuse request. From what I can tell it breaks the following rules listed there: ...Because the greeter is based around adult content, intruding on my parcel with chat, and behind ban lines. All in all though will reporting the advertising content get LL to check the entire parcel out too? While the greeter is sexual in nature to begin with, it's not as much of an offense as the graphic artwork depicting what I mentioned above + all of the sex furniture all over the place.
  17. In that case it looks like it's an individually owned land. 😕 The only other person in the group is someone with a similar bio and there doesn't seem to be any rental service tied to it. Which is frustrating, because I really don't think that kind of stuff should be allowed out in the open on Moderate land. It's really uncomfortable and I hope LL actually responds to the reports. There's also some uncomfy things in the profiles of both people who own the land.
  18. Yup, which is exactly why I haven't actually contacted the owner or anything and am asking here instead. I'm not sure it's just a shock value thing though unfortunately considering just how many items there are; that'd be a LOT of L to sink in for a troll. Though their profile is also kind of yikes and basically calls a certain group of people nazis basically so that's also a thing... Is there a way to see if the land is being rented and therefore maybe be able to contact a landlord? If LL doesn't do anything about it I wonder if I could get a land owner to-- provided they're not the land owner themselves...
  19. I know nobody can actually do anything about it here, I'm just wondering if there are any other avenues I can take. I feel like the reports my partner and I filed aren't really going to do much. Right now there's a full bright naked greeter image right across from my mainland home close enough to the other parcel's ban line that it's both A) facing my house directly and B) spamming messages in chat if I get too close to that corner of my yard. That itself wouldn't be TOO bad but there's also images depicting graphic content-- it's not technically something banned on SL but it's definitely disturbing to plenty of people and has to do with animals. 😕 It certainly has no place on a Moderate rated land and there's 0 attempt to tuck it away in an enclosed skybox where it belongs or even in a building. Just straight up littered around on the ground. Oh and there's adult rated furniture littered all over the place too themed around the same general thing. All in all a pretty uncomfortable sight especially considering I just invited someone brand new to SL and now he has to see that when he logs in next. It's super super offputting. Sorry for the semi-vent lol I just wanted to know if there's anything additional I can do besides the reports that have already been filed. I'm probably going to put up a temporary ugly looking wall to block all of it so the new person on my land doesn't have to see it in the meantime...
  20. I was trying to make my own day/night cycle for my parcel and got a nice soft early night look based on [TOR] Night - Our Together. Both it and the setting I put together has this weird issue when I move my camera around. Just a warning/heads up, the color flickering gets kind of fast in the second gif. https://i.gyazo.com/cd9664bdd5057c64637721927018f854.mp4 + https://i.gyazo.com/794faaeb3c2e51c194ecd256c179eb63.mp4 I have all shaders on and sun/moon/projectors enabled.

    nvm

That doesn't help. I know who I brought the firepit from. They don't sell the seating nor have it listed anywhere so I figure I'd see if anyone recognizes it.

    found the thing
  23. A lot of really nice looking avatars so far! I've got another. I spent the past few days making my first anime-esque furry with a fully custom skin!
  24. Ahh thanks! I'm struggling to find it in the marketplace though, is there an mp link to the shop? Or is it in-world only? I can't log in right now to check ;w;
  25. So, uh... Just because more than one person has an opinion on something doesn't necessarily make it right, per se... Just gonna leave it at that, lol
