Something I think is broken with Second Life atm. I'm getting people saying they are getting notifications about my following them, and it's just people that used to be on my friends list at one point and now aren't. Is the database screwed up now or something?

By insinuating I didn't have to pay anything, to try and get behind the hidden pay wall to get something I did want. Either way, Gacha will soon be perma gone and we'll be left with something far worse.

Oh? So because I wanted that one item, I wasn't forced to pay to try and get it? I don't think you know what you're trying to say, other then trying to insult me. I know exactly what I was doing, I know what I wanted. I was just aggravated and annoyed that to get what I want, was random, and left me with items I did not want.

It's not temptation, is having to pay for far more then I should need to, to get an item I would enjoy. Big difference. Money isn't an issue for me as others are claiming in this thread, for on how they need their "cheap Gachas". When they themselves refuse to admit even they get annoyed when get something they didn't want.

I'd happily pay $10 USD, which is a little over 2k $L, for a quality product. Vs having to spend thousands more trying to get something from a Gacha. I literally have 2,713 Gachas I have no use for, and cannot get rid of other then deleting them, just for trying for things like a Uncommon shoulder piece, or a rare corset, or boots that come with a HUD, or gloves that fit my body I want to style. And yes... There's Gachas where even the body you get is random! So you'll get the item, but it's for Maitreya and not for Freya.

It's why I never posted a pic of the gachas I have in my inventory. Naming and Shaming would get me punished, but you'd see many top sellers who have exploited the system, since I see no reason for me to have 12 copies of the same common just to try and get a rare.

Well, this is obvious. They just want more money, for you to waste it getting items you don't want. You know this, I know this, and they know this.

I just found it humorous was all, since they were claiming how skilled that Gacha creator was in rigging for so many bodies and how the change will affect them, when they did none of the work.

Quality is in the eye of the beholder, that's for sure. Nothing like seeing a belt that's high poly and using 1024 textures for the buckle. Just for me to have to modify it so not ludicrous and built properly with custom textures. Also, I know we can't name and shame. But one person that quit posting in here, is probably due to the fact they went to show me this "Awsome Gacha" that had fitted mesh for many bodies. Know what I saw? They took a full perm kit from Marketplace, and turned it into a no-copy Gacha. I was dying.... with laughter...

I had a similar experience, but I'm not sure if the gambling aspect is why LL is removing current form Gachas. We don't know why LL has moved forwards with the removal of them, what law if any has led them in that direction. Someone in this thread kept spamming it with Laws this, and Laws that and I simply had to ignore their posts since was mostly spam and off-topic, since going forwards, we don't know the reason why until LL themselves comes out to say why other then their legal team recommended it. What we do know is that yes Gacha was considering gambling, and legally the current proposed Conveyor is. Pretty much anyone who has been to Vegas in the past 6 months, has seen the new Slot Machines where on the screen, the Jackpot bonus Image ya need to match changes randomly, but it does show what the Jackpot Bonus image is you need to match up. What we don't know is what exactly LL has been told to change and why, but even if conveyor is approved, we must respect it for now. LL's platform, LL's rules. We'll just speak with our money as always.

Well, we know the conveyor system that was able to bypass the law where it was implemented before SL, had not just a preview, but an auto reset timer if purchase wasn't made. This is why people were asking for clarification from Patch.

Why people were asking Patch for clarification. That timer and auto changing, is the only reason it's getting a pass.

People were wanting clarification, nothing more. I see no reason why you have to attack and be passive aggressive on someone about it, could have just let it be.

Because it's a predatory system. Many people who used to make great things and sell them normally, chose instead to make their new releases etc and special items, strictly Gacha. Wanna get it? Gotta play. There's nothing fun about Gacha when you're trying to just get one item, the only surprise I've had with them is "Wow, that only took 50 spins to get what I wanted." And Gacha by definition are a gamble.

No one knows currently other then LL. What we do know is that second life is their platform, so we must abide by their rules they set in place.
