The info is necessary for those who "cash out". That is considered earned income therefore a 1099 is necessary.

    https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1099-misc

None of that applies to "cashing out" from SL via Tilia.  That is Form 1099-K, and $5K applies for this year, and $20K applies for 2023 income.  Now if you won that new car from the SL20B rafffle from SL, I guess they will send you a 1099-Misc since it was a gift over $600.  Who won that car btw?

    What this means

This means that for 2023 and prior years, payment apps and online marketplaces are only required to send out Forms 1099-K to taxpayers who receive over $20,000 and have over 200 transactions. For tax year 2024, the IRS plans for a threshold of $5,000 to phase in reporting requirements.

This phased-in approach will allow the agency to review its operational processes to better address taxpayer and stakeholder concerns.

Taxpayers should be aware that while the reporting threshold remains over $20,000 and 200 transactions for 2023, companies could still issue the form for any amount.

Also, if Tilla is sending you a 1099 K, that means that you will be getting a 1099 Misc from LL more than likely

Why would LL issue anyone a 1099 Misc?  Lindens are not considered currency and any linden to linden transactions are not taxable, and would have no reason to generate a 1099 Misc.   Of course if you are a part-time contractor working for LL, and they pay you in USD, then a 1099 Misc might be possible.

The only 1099-K would come from Tilia when you do a process credit to an external processor like paypal.  The minimum to generate a 1099-K from the IRS is $5000 USD  for 2024.  LL has not said what dollar amount they will use to send you a 1099-K this year.  But the new minimum is $5000, not $600, as the IRS has delayed that foolish law for another year.  Taxing all the poor people with a side business, or selling your parents stuff on eBay to cover your rent, and getting taxed on it, would not be popular during an election year.

  3. I have read every post from the start, starting 1 hour after the first post yesterday.  I still have nothing worth saying about the Community Exhibit, except that it is a small sampling of communities that qualify, and might give a newbie some regions to explore.  The only two that sounded like fun were the SL Drivers, and Boys Town (both not covered by the first Video). The only busy region you could visit, if you could figure out the LM, was an adult bar at Boy's Town.  I love the old multi-region builds, but most are empty except for occasional events.  A newbie looking for a special interest would do better checking SL Events and Search and the SL Destinations.

Active communities are out of style these days it seems.  Sign of the paranoid times.  There are always hobbies that have active communities, but they are often for profit, usually require a high $L balance to get started, and there is a learning curve.  KittyCatS! is a good example.  But does SL think their 30,000 group members qualify as a community, or an expensive hobby run as a for profit business?

Music/Live performers was one of the Community categories.  There are music event groups for the express purpose of spamming your set to other music event members.  Everyone I know has the notices blocked.  They mainly serve as an Archive of whether a hostess spammed the notices as required, since some managers think someone reads the 45 notices per hour that a general group can generate.

I was happy to see just outside the Community exhibit they added a portal to the Linden Realms.  A sign that you need to walk into the portal to get transported inside the Realms might help though.  Clicking on the portal does nothing at all.

When I stopped treating the forums like my therapist or a punching bag, I found it actually made it easier to poop

Are you suggesting the high volume posters are constipated?  I attribute my easy pooping since seldom posting here to less siting on my butt, and eating one raw apple (granny smith preferred) every day.  If your teerh (or lack of) can't handle a crisp fresh apple, then you must get an apple coring tool:

A southern US biker bar display might provide additional options for newbies if they are not into Socialism and Boys Town.  (to stay on topic)

I verified and LL's viewers can still be ran under Windows 7, with the exception of the CEF plugin (it simply won't start) and the version checker (but deleting SLVersionChecker.exe from the installation directory allows to start and run the viewer just fine)

Deleting SLVersionChecker.exe gives a complaint box when starting the viewer, but you must close the box within a 5 second timeout, or the SLViewer startup freezes, and you have to cancel it with task manager.  So it's not really a viable workaround.  This also happens on 6.6.16.582201 - Maintenance-V,  except no message about missing CEF plugins.  Fortunately there is no good reason to be running the SLViewer, with Win7, or WIn10/11.

Also while the upgrade from Win7 and 8.1 to Win10/11 has been free from Microsoft, with a valid new product key supplied with the upgrade,  MS finally turned off the upgrade servers as of Nov. 2, 2023.  So Win7 Pro could get a free Win10 Pro with a valid new key.  Now MS will sell you just the product key for Win10 Pro upgrade for only $199 USD.  Such a deal!

There are no reliable Win10 product keys for sale from Amazon, NewEgg, or other reputable web suppliers now. They all report not available for any version of Windows 10, and MS no longer sells a retail version on their site.

You can take your chances with a Chinese based company that claims to have valid un-used Win10 product keys for sale for around $70. These are all OEM single use keys.  Most of the comments from purchasers say the keys do not work, and you get a message this key has already been used.  Walmart of all places is selling these keys online.  They are sent in a box with a DVD rom, or a USB flash memory with Win10 installed.  But you can download Win10 install disc from Microsoft for free, since they do not have a product key.  So all you are getting is a $5 USB flash memory for your $70.  If you pay for a used invalid key, Walmart will not refund your money if you opened the box.

So bottom line is, at this time anyone needing to upgrade to Win10 and pay for the program, whether OEM or not, can only pay MS $199 and they send you the key in your MS email account., if you don't already have a valid Win10.  This new scam by some Chinese companies has only started since MS stopped making the upgrades free on Nov. 2, 2023.   Their selling history on Amazon goes back 4 days!

You can of course purchase Win11 anywhere, for around $100 to $200 each, depending on the version, Home or Pro.  I can not run Win11 on my system, according to the MS Win11 evaluation.  It claims my AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor, 4 core, 3400 Mhz processor will not work.  It loafs along in SL now, even on the PBR viewer, and I probably would need a new motherboard too. So forget buying a new Win11 OS in my case, unless I build a new gaming system. Linux is not an option, I have too much software that will not run on Linux.

If the "side-effect" of the viewer no longer installing on Windows 7 is due to "just missing Python", or something else that could indeed be installed by a user, that would also be good to know!

If it was only that easy.  Win7 will no longer run Python, unless you are a programmer that is willing to build your own Python.  So that eliminates about 99.999% of the user population.  Back when MS first announced their ending of Win7 support, about 3 years ago, some Python developers decided it was time to make all modern versions of Python not compatible with Win7.  Their reason was the usual - we don't want to support Win7, so let's force all Win7 users to upgrade.  That cause a problem for many CAD users still on Win7.  There was no solution but to upgrade.  Python is not essential to SL code.  FS has no plans to require Python in the future, with the new SL versions.

What is Python?  Here's a Youtube explanation - the narrator is really a fast writer with his black marker.  It's a coder's wet dream it claims.

  7. Found this on a tech forum, https://stackoverflow.com/ Same issue. Bye bye Win7 for SL Viewer users.

Fatal error detected: error loading python dll 'python311.dll

"I tryed to compile my python script with auto-py-to-exe, and it worked great (on Windows 10). But when i tried to run the program on another computer (on Windows 7). At first there was an error there is not an api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll. When i downloaded this file and put it in base dir, occurred new error:

The Belli covenant only bans hovertext when it's on a breedable (they don't call it that though, rather they have a definition of a type of object), and even then only when it can be seen from outside the parcel.
    - Which is a tricky thing because hovertext's range of visibility seems to be dependent on the viewer's settings and not the text's settings.

Since the Linden's apparently can not tell the difference between a pet and a breedable, they are banning hovertext on any pets also, including pet plants and mushrooms.  It's not clear if they ban hovertext on a box as well.  If someone has their shoe collection in their bedroom, and have labeled the shoes, why are these not also banned?

You can turn off hovertext in your viewer, or limit the distance which it is visible.  Just like you can turn off sounds and audio from nearby parcels.  Strangely you cannot derender annoying objects with the SL viewer, though most 3rd party viewers make this a standard feature.

Here is my hovertext setting. I must be closer than 6 meters to see hovertext.  If you set the top slider to zero, hovertext is invisible.

While I don't crave the taste of meat, I do miss the spirit of a good ol' fashioned Meeroo BBQ...

I once worked for a large breedable store where among the other breedables, such as rocks, tiny people, and Dodo Birds, I had to sell Meeroos. We even rented stalls where you could breed them.  You had the right idea using them as a BBQed meat source.

The Dodo Birds became extinct lasting about 1 year.

Premium Plus parcels (e.g. ranches) are allowed 4 breedables.

Thanks for the info.  I was wondering if they had increased the limit for Premium Plus members.

If you read this thread from the beginning, you should see that I only answered the OP's question, "what am I looking at."  With 12 years in the breedables business I felt I could do that.  Others just told her to AR the owner.  Not friendly or a useful answer.  I had 3 homes in Belli and had my first Houseboat within 5 hrs of the first opening.  I recommended Belli to many friends. They all left because of the restrictive Convenant.  My friends tend to be more independent and question rules from governments, unlike some countries  That is a tradition in the United States.  That tradition and independence carries over to SL, just a fact.

Well, I'll be a blue nosed gopher! Never knew about box hovertext! Hmmmm... Maybe boxes ARE alive!

I think you are right.  Inside the unborn box is a Zygote.  It lives forever in the box, but doesn't cause any harm or disturbance outside the box.

A zygote is a eukaryotic cell formed by a fertilization event between two gametes. The zygote's genome is a combination of the DNA in each gamete, and contains all of the genetic information of a new individual organism. In multicellular organisms, the zygote is the earliest developmental stage.

I say let the Zygotes live in peace, and not be banned from Bellisseria!

And any object can also display a hovertext, even a basic prim.  If you would like to display this banned prim at your LH home, just let me know.  No charge :)

  12. I hope we are done now.  There were only 2 others in this thread that had any experience breeding kittycats, and they were being ignored despite being correct.   Those that try to attack me were off-base by several continents. :)

I already said what I think of Abnor's comment that any kittycats, whether breedables or pets over the limit of two are in violation.  That should of course apply to ALL pets in Belli.  Got a horse and a dog on your ranch. No chicken, barn cat, owl, or squirrel for you!

I guess the key is checking if those ones without hover text are for sale.  Selling on Belli is not allowed, hover text or not which was my main point which seems to have eluded you

There was never any sign of the cats in the OP's invasive photo of a neighbors bedroom, were for sale.  They were recently purchased cat boxes from the new collection, about 14,000 $L worth, at 990 $L/box, and some partnered breeding pairs in the back.  She also had a KittycatS Dock in the room, which suggests she uses the online cattery to breed and store her cats.  The dock is used to bring cats from the online cattery inworld. The new cats have to be rezzed somewhere inworld one time.  Lots of bad assumptions from the OP and others here, knowing nothing about her intentions or plans.

You can't really sell anything in Belli. You cannot advertise a Belli store outside of Belli, or inside Belli..  She had no Torgan profilers that could show the LM of the cat on the web market.  There was no sign on her home that she was selling kittycats.  That was never the issue.  Just because you brought it up doesn't mean it was worth my commenting, since selling in Belli is a non-issue.  The only issue was she had about 10 paired breeders, obvious from the %Love on the tags, when only one pair was allowed.   And that triggered a busybody to AR her, and be proud of herself.

I assume you're aware that a few of the same Governance Lindens who enforce the covenant inworld are responsible for keeping the forums civil?  Do let us know if one of them returns your stash of breeding KittyCats.

Oh, also, I believe Patch Linden has only two inworld "children", avatars that he uses for photos.  I don't think that qualifies him as a breeder, so people can have as many of those cutouts of him as they like, just as you can have as many unscripted photos of cats as you like.

Well this is worth a laugh at least.  I don't have a Linden Home, I gave up 3 of them up a year ago. And I never bred or stored any kittycats in Bellisseria ever!   My "stash" of kittycats is on a private island region, where the owners have reasonable rules based on facts.  I cause no region lag there, just follow the usual rules for well run estates.

And how do you know Patch is not a breeder of more Patches?  That's one of the strangest comments I've heard this week.  Also kittycat boxes do not violate any TOS rules in Belli.  You might like to read back and find out who was complaining about ALL cutouts, because they reminded her of "road kill."

They're KittyCats, which are breedables. The ones with the cardboard back are kittens in boxes, so they're not active breedables and not covered by the rules (as I understand it... they're just in storage in that state). The ones with the hovertext and an age are active and way more than is allowed. The flat version is just a low prim model for people who don't want the full cats roaming about. Which almost always means it's a breedable farm, as people with pets want to see their cats.

Boxes that are unborn and not breeding also have hovertext. That is where you must be getting confused. Many turn on the hovertext to show the traits on a box, because you cannot see all the traits from the picture only.  So, boxes with hovertext are just boxes.  Apparently a box (unborn) kittycat with the hovertext turned on is against the convenant.  Perhaps all hovertext should be banned in Belli. We need to keep the community clean and tidy.

A kittycat that is born can be shown in a 2D state, and also has hovertext, which can be turned on or off.  Some are complaining about boxes with hovertext, which are not breedables yet.  The boxes are legal, but the hovertext is not, even though hovertext visible range is limited and can be adjusted in your viewer.

There are breedable farms where the hovertext on live animals is turned off.  Many breeders just give their cat a name, one line on a tag, such as Mabel.  If you have a box or breedable with Mabel above them, that is violating the Belli covenant.  Does that really seem reasonable?

Here are 3 boxes (unborn kittycats) on my work platform, from the recent new collection.  I turned on all the tags on the Dragon Water, and only the name tag on the other two.  None are breeders.  I will probably keep them as collectables as they increase in value, and sell them in a few years at an auction. In any case, a tag does not mean it is a live breedable.

But that's my point.  Why would someone have an unborn (boxed) cat out using up prims unless their intention is to sell it?  Or any cat boxed up and not out as a pet?

SIgh...  If you have enough prims on your land, keeping boxes rezzed that you are not intending to sell is a personal choice.  I have 4000 LI on my parcel, so why am I worried about having 50 boxes (50 prims) rezzed on my work platform?  They are not for sale.  I sell boxes at market sims and my own shops.  Sometimes we just like to see our best stock without looking at a database.  I often arrange boxes according to traits, and have them rezzed, because they might be part of my next project.  Cats that I have an over supply of and cannot be sold easily go to the Kittycats online cattery.  I have 2000 boxes in inventory - and room for about 300 boxes to sell at my shops.  I do not sell from my breeding home.

Why do you have trees on your land?  They use prims, are not for sale, and would save you prims if they were back in your inventory.

You simply know nothing about the larger scale kittycat breeders.  Many own full sims, and prefer to breed inworld, and keep some inventory inworld,  A personal choice, and not something to be ridiculed.  It's their choice to own land to store boxes.

We are not talking about Belli mini parcels here.  I do not support rezzed breeding farms in Belli,  A Breeding Farm is not 3 kittycats however.  That is the issue.  Pet owners stay out of Belli because a limit of only 2 breedable/pets is unreasonable to them.

The maximun of two live breedables in the  Covenant is simply a bad decision, ill conceived, and should be changed to at least 4 pets, or breedables. I never said anyone should violate the Belli Covenant.  Some posters here are parsing, and drawing the wrong conclusions, to put it nicely.

What I said was - IF neighbors complain because they can't stand  2D kittycat boxes inside your own home, or are bothered by the tags than can be turned off, avoid their harassment by moving your boxes to a sky platform, out of their sight.  I also said, if you are going to large scale breed, don't waste your time trying it in Belli.
