If I understand you correctly you are saying that people logged into the secondlife website should not comment unless they want to use FB to do so. Secondlife and facebook are two different properties. Why should anyone be held hostage to FB while interacting with a secondlife property?

Check the images I just added to my original post. Make sure you are logged out of any facebook pages you may have. Then go to secondlife.com. login. go to destinations page. select premium destinations. type a test comment. Not the blue login button saying you must login. But you ARE logged into SL website. and it prompts you to login to facebook in order to comment on an SL page. Not cool. If you are logged out of FB, logged into SL website and are not required to login to FB please let me know what country you are in. Im in USA. dunno if its limited to USA or not.

I think like me, people didnt notice that it was required. I mean if you are logged in as your SL avatar on facebook you might not notice if your avatar on SL website isnt as it should be. I did not realize until I saw that the SL website had grabbed my granny icon from my granny FB page. Sure I could have logged out of that, which I did, and logged into tenly FB page. But I object to FB being part of my SL adventure. Especially when its a requirement. Im personally sick of the FB invasion. I have left other sites that require FB login. The more FB is connected to anything the more spam I get. BTW never give FB your phone number. I had to change my phone number right after giving it to them as I started getting tons of spam phone calls. Not a coincidence. Same thing happened with google. Terribly invasive.

I think you need to check your own ability to comment. I had not caught this before because I was logged into tenly facebook and the thumbnail for both fb and SL website is the same. so I did not catch it until I was logged in with my granny fb page which I use to connect with family. I logged out of fb because I thought it was EXTREMELY odd for my FB portrait to be associated with anything in SL. went back to comment, made sure I was logged into the SL website and sure enough I was. Now the icon was blank. which I thought was weird but typed in my comment and got a message saying you must be logged into FACEBOOK in order to post. I popped some images into my original post just for you dear disbeliever. Go try for yourself. make sure you are not logged into facebook before you try to comment on a destination. Specifically I was attempting to comment in the premium section about the lovely cabin I just got.

What I said was that Im not happy with SL requiring me to log in to facebook to do anything. At this point its just commenting. but what next? I should be able to comment on the SL website without having to get involved with facebook. period. If that doesn't bother you thats fine. But I am personally tired of the facebook invasion.

Imagine my surprise when I learned I am no longer allowed to comment unless Im logged in to facebook. I have to tell you this made me feel devalued. I will not be logging into facebook in order to do anything SL related. I might just be canceling my membership. Because Im really getting tired of websites and more insisting that their users belong to facebook. Outrageous. you should be caring more about what your users want to tell you not what social media platforms they choose to belong to. I am logged into secondlife.com. I am logged OUT of facebook. the following screenshot will show you what I see. See the blue link that says login? click it and it says you must log in to facebook in order to post!

this was why they had the list of last names originally. because they feared that children would choose poopy names that would offend other folks. but you can offend all you want with display names so seems to me they should not be going back to pre-packaged last names. No one missed the removal of those prepackaged names. we all asked to choose our own. thats why they gave us display names. INMHO does not make sense to take a step back into the last decade.

Well I am disappointed to hear linden will be choosing our last names by providing a list to choose from. this is where we were in the beginning. We rebelled. we hated it because with lindens limited list you could be dating your own brother. same last name. it was terrible. Id like to be able to do as I do in some other games...select my own first and last name. The whole point is to be unique. not a clone starting out the gate with someone else's last name. Not that Id mind if someone else imagines having the same last name. But lets not have 100,000 people with the same last name. plus you may not agree, but I hated Lindens options. limited and not international or culturally representative of the cultural experiences and desires of SL users. I am "Tenly Sierra". Not "Tenly Resident" and certainly not "Tenly name-o-matic-limited-list"

So I read that new linden homes were coming sometime this year as well as ability to have last names again. Does anyone have any more info? Like when and OMG I cant wait to see new linden homes. I wonder if they take advantage of the more land we are allotted with premium accounts? Im really excited. cant wait. also just got all of my 15 SL birthday gifts. OMG some of them are totally amazing. Sure hope you all got yours. No idea what to do with that giant tower but its great. Love the chariot, the tree, the magic staff, the wand...omg too many things to name. Have not taken my birthday hat off since I got it. Im so, so old. love, love, it. Thank you lindens! Cant wait for the homes and use of a last name instead of "resident". Especially if I get to pick my own last name. so exciting.

After finally figuring out what all this baked mesh is, watching several videos (and learning that Omega had put out a free baked mesh applier hud) I ran off to get everything I needed and give it a whirl. The free omega baked applier hud came with no instruction on how to use it. Thanks to Strawberry Singe video promoting an alternate omega compatible baked applier I realized I have to remove my alpha for the applier to work. This worked great with my LAQ head. BUT... not with my Belleza body. And Im not sure why. Taking off the alpha results in exactly what you would expect - the system body bleeding through the Belleza mesh body. To the best of my knowledge Belleza is omega compatible, no relays needed. So, Im stumped. Things you need if you want to try out baked on appliers and the new viewer which is in development. I finally got what ONION avatar means. I did not realize that you have a mesh body and then skin is applied to a mesh body over that mesh body. and ditto for clothing. DOH. light went on. I still dont know if my belleza body is an "onion" but I guess it wont matter if this baked on stuff works. Would sure be nice to have skin makers get back to making skins that work for your head and body and not just one or the other! I don't know why they were originally designed. I do believe it was restricted because people who owned sims had a fit about it. Saying SL was going to prevent them from making money by giving people their own homes. The problem is that these sim owners are over-priced and often NOT what the renter is looking for. Or, they end up leaving SL and you are constantly having to look for another place. Not to mention that you might start out with a totally lovely view only to have it blocked by some ugly castle or giant blinging sex bill board. Or worse a mall. Which means more avatars and slower loads. At least with Linden estates there is the hope of having a neighborhood thats more stable. My ideal would be a plot in an SL estate with an HOA that gives you guidelines for how big your home can be and a little more loosely based style. so maybe its limited to houses, whatever style you want, but NO castles, no fantasy, no scifi. Or maybe its themed so you could have any kind of medieval house or castle you want. Or, limited to whatever sci fi or fantasy home you want. Still themed but not so cloned as what linden homes is now. Id settle for them adding some more options. Like a country home with a nice wrap around porch. A garden space. a drive way for the car. A little place to plant some veges. Yes, Ive had that out in the big bad world. but as noted, never lasts long. And I end up losing everything I had. Im tired of having to start over. Plus, I really don't like the high cost of renting. too much like RL and the struggle to keep a roof over ones head due to all the gentrifying and mayors who refuse to let a city boundary expand. I know what I want my home in SL to be. I know the neighborhood, landscape Id like to enjoy. Hopefully Im not the only one and Linden is listening.

I dont agree that it wold allow people to sell their linden home by making prearrangements with other people to sit on it. Linden does not put a home back on the market in a matter of moments. its unavailable for a time until at least it gets swept. and maybe even longer. So all they would have to do is put a timer on it that prevents it from being abandoned and then swept up as you are suggesting. first come first served maintained. No part of my comment was about estates having color. You did not understand my example regarding socks. But since you bring up real estate. try imagining in RL that you can only have a house assigned to you when you want to purchase. You cant live where you want. you will live where you are assigned. Maybe that will help you understand the reference to socks. And as you said location is important. Thats no different in SL than in RL. Im sorry you can't understand that.

I dont know if Im imagining it or if this is your new baking thing going on...but I have noticed when I put on some MESH items of clothing I dont have to go into the alpha HUD and adjust it just knows what should be hidden. While I love that as it means no more bad cuts from alpha huds that cant support all designers (impossible if you ask me). However, I thought "baked on" was going to let me use my classic non mesh clothing as well. todate nothing Ive tried is going on the belleza body or my LAQ mesh head. still all going onto the system avatar body. IDK what I am doing wrong or if Im nuts.

I haven't been able to wear any of my self created clothing or makeup on my mesh body or head. I guess I do not know how this "new" feature happens. So jelly is what that grey body is when the textures do not load on your mesh body? and onion is just any mesh body when you put mesh clothes on it? or my belleza is an onion because it overlays my system body?

Im trying to understand how this 'bake on mesh' affects me the user and how its used by me. How would I know if I have something in my inventory that needs to be "baked on" to my mesh body? Im totally confused by all of it. Is there a video somewhere that can show me how I would apply this baked on mesh? Or maybe its really how to bake my own textures onto my mesh body? I have plenty of things I made for myself to wear before mesh bodies. also own tons of "classic" clothing. does this baking geek speak allow me to wear those on my belleza body? Or is it only baked on mesh ready bodies? Id love to know how to apply my jeans and my lingerie to my mesh body. I own belleza and TMP. Have at least 3 mesh heads and would love to be able to "bake" my makeup onto my heads. help. please and thank you! appending my own note. found this video. and popping it in here for anyone else that has been as confused as me about this issue.

I keep seeing these terms thrown around such as onion skinned avatars and jelly dolls. And also that "onion skinned avatars are aggressively punished using ARC and jelly dolls". can someone explain that to me? I understand classic avatar. or standard. you are not wearing a mesh body over it. I would have assumed that onion skinned might refer to the mesh body you wear over your mesh body but I do not think Ive got that right. IVE no idea how an ARC (or what that is) or what a "jelly doll" is or how its existance punishes onion skinned avatar (whatever the heck that is). enlighten me please?

I guess I need someone to tell me what this means for me. Currently I have TONS of clothing that I purchased BEFORE I started using a belleza mesh body. Im not sure if you are calling those bodies onions or jellies or what the heck. So please USE non-geek speak. I want to know IF this new "baked" on is going to let me use all my old clothing and skins (the clothing/skins I used with a "classic" avatar body) on my belleza body? I think not as I think I read "set to baked" once when you create. Which would mean everything I own would for the second time become obsolete. and I might be okay with that if it fixes the problem of some things work for classic avatar, somethings only for the mesh bodies we wear over the classic avatar. And too many things for one mesh body and none for the others. What I wish is that you guys update the system (classic) avatar so it has a lovely rendered form. For example, get rid of cankles. Single most reason I went with a mesh body was so I could have NICE toes and NO cankles. I decided to go with a mesh head because the skins look so much nicer on a LAQ head for example, than on the standard mesh body. Even arms and legs become less deformed than the classic does when bending, sitting, etc. It really IS ridiculous that I have to put a mesh body over my mesh body in order to look nice. Id at least like my clothing and skins to work with both. Currently I feel like consumers are getting raked over the coals by creators. For example I purchase a nice head and it has a lovely face and NO BODY SKIN. Now I have to go find a new skin so I can have a match between the head and the body. But skin makers are becoming exclusive to some mesh body/head makers and excluding others. I can no longer have the face I want with the head/body I want. Its enough to make me want to throw out the mesh heads and bodies and go back to classic. BUT WAIT FOR IT. The same skin designers who make skins that could easily be included for system avatars are no longer including them. This is done to force holdouts to go to a mesh body just to get a nice skin. NO it does not take a lot of time to make a classic skin. I make skins for myself. Pop it in your applier and save it for system. But doing that wont force consumers to purchase mesh bodies. I want to purchase a skin, use it on my system, (bake it if thats how you want to do it) I dont care. but I also want that skin to be applicable to any mesh head/body/feet/hands I might be wearing over my standard avatar body. And as a struggling creator (still playing catchup from the last big whoop) Id like to make it once and have it applicable to all as well. Its insane to have to remodel things for every new mesh avatar that comes out. Plus I see some great bodies come out but get no support from skin or clothing creators because the BIG THREE (or four) mesh body/head creators have co-opted the best skin/clothing designers to create for them exclusively. Whether that has been a purposeful collusion or accidental I dont know. But as a consumer I don't like it. really. whatever you do. please make it ONE SIZE FITS ALL. Fitmesh, baked. whatever. Just let me buy a skin or a lovely top and be able to use it on any of my "bodies". If I have to lose everything again to have my clothing, hair, skin, makeup, etc in order for my future purchases to work on ANY body I chose to exhibit...well it would be worth it. Thats what I want. As a creator and as a consumer I really don't like all the appliers that work for some and not for all. thats my two bits from one who has spent a lot of money and who would like to get down to the business of creating without having to purchase every mesh body on the market and take extra time to re-tailor for it. Not because I dont want to create but because the whole creation process just became too tedious. Let me say it again. Im okay with losing everything to get where I want to go. one shirt for all my bodies. one skin that can be used on all my bodies. etc. etc. etc. Really would love to get the count of my inventory down.

It would be first come first served. You sell blue socks and red socks. you dont randomly tell people what socks they get to purchase. Its first come first served.

Choose by map Currently when you want a linden home you are given one, in the style of your choice, based on what they offer, randomly. You dont like where it is you abandon it and try again. Why not let people use the map to select a home and if its available they can view it and then purchase it from standing on the land instead of via the website? Ive sometimes gone to 4 or more homes..sometimes 8 before finding one where its least awful. Most awful being no matter where I turn all I see is someone elses house just like RL. I seriously don't like living in the middle of everyone else. makes me feel claustrophobic. I like to be near the water. what can I say Im a pisces. It would be first come first serve as opposed to random and thus fair. You could still opt for random if you do not care. Select by region name Id also like this option because sometimes I get assigned a random house of the style I chose in a region with a name that really makes me cringe. so I might like where the house is but not want it because the region name is not my style. Would it really be so hard to let the user select by region name and have available homes show on the map highlighted in some way? Or use a search criteria that allows for selecting from available homes near water? I know some folks prefer mountains I just need water! Both would be nice and yes I know we can abandon linden homes and go rent somewhere. But its not all that easy to find a nice place where the rents are not as high as RL and where your neighbor isnt the ugliest home builder or marketing stalker with invasive ads destroying the view. What about themed regions with an HOA style guides? I guess Id like to see linden make some land available for the sole purpose of homes that we can build ourselves but have an HOA so that my country home doesnt end up next to your castle or your god awful bill board. Make the linden home SIM be themed. So for example you like asian decor but you dont want linden homes because they all look alike. maybe you want the asian themed SIM and your home, the one you build or place, matches the HOA for that themed sim. Maybe you would rather put down a 512 castle in a medieval themed sim than have a 512 1960s themed linden block house like the ones we have now. but you dont want everyone to have the same exact 4 castles do you? And isnt it better if your castle is in a medieval landscape of homes rather than a hodge podge of anything goes? So, lets go HOA and there is a lot of unique castle building that can go on. I personally would like a space where anyone can have a modern home. Say from the 1800s to current. I might have a 1912 country prairie and you might have a 1040s Frank Lloyd Write. Same footprint allowance but the home of our dreams. No castles. No space age. No dragons. No rocket ships. no cavemen. NO BILL BOARDS or other unhomely crap. just my two bits. dreaming out loud.

OMG I am so frustrated. I am looking for just the right thing for my Male model Avatar. I have a Adam head which I really like and tho I have an adam body its impossible to find great clothes for it. SO I am now looking at getting a Belleza jake body. I have belleza Venus for myself and I love the quality so I figure I cant go wrong with Jake. However, I can NOT for the life of me find a SKIN that is for head AND body BOTH. I find a great skin with a face I love and it is for any other head but not Adam. I find a great skin I like and it says omega applier and I think finally! this should work for my Adam head and Jake body. Right? NO! but I read the box and its ONLY FOR BODIES not heads. I need omega applier male skin that applies to head and body without it mattering what mesh head or body I have. help. please.

For those who did not understand...my question was not that I was looking for shoes for belleza. It was that I wanted a pair of shoes just like the ones in the photo for belleza. Thank you Pixieplumb for assuring me that the full perm ones could be adjusted for belleza! Im going to try the demo right away!
