  1. Yesterday I tried a houseboat. I loved the inside floor plan on some of them. But I seem to have a problem with the avatar bobbing in and around as if the place is to small for the camera to stay inside with her. SO half the time I see her and the other half is just jarring between walls and the outside. Maybe there is a way to correct it? I ended up abandoning the boathouse. COol as it was...not trees and I like a bit of lawn. So onward to trying a home. As far as I know the four options you get in the mailbox menu are the only 4 options available. While I ADORE the options outside...I really dont like the closed interiors. Im a modern gal who loves the open floorplan. Even my old 1960s house in RL has a more open floor plan. From my living room I can see my little dining room and the kitchen is open to the dining area. It makes the place seem bigger than it actually is. MY RL home is not much bigger than the new linden homes. But like I said, it FEELS bigger because the only things closed off from me are two bedrooms and the two bathrooms. I had the same camera problem only it was worse. Im hoping someone can help me with the camera problem. Because otherwise the homes are too claustrophobic. I have a lovely house in my inventory I would love to use. But I guess I would have to buy land to do that. I am happy to see the new homes as it means things dont feel as clonish as they do with older homes I've tried. Hoping to see some more open floor plan options in future though. WOuld be nice to have the option to change the floor plan inside the house! Bet no one thought of that yet! 🙂
  2. Got premium because I was curious about the new homes. Only one available was houseboat. Okay, did NOT get a choice between anything. and when I click to go to my new home there is nothing at all here but water. I got land, no houseboat. No email, nothing explaining what I should do. Am I supposed to rez something? If yes, how?
  3. What is Bellisseria? I dont find this on the map and I dont understand "add=-ons" as far as linden homes goes. I was looking for the new linden homes but it seems on the website linden is not interested in showing what they have to offer unless you sign up first. I've been with SL for a long long time. I let my subscription lapse about a year or so ago and find its more expensive than it was before. In fact its now a lot more than some other non-SL places. Still Im curious. If they have some way to actually SEE the new homes from inworld that would be a plus. Im never going to buy before I can actually poke around ever again. Saw a video on youtube about some house on Bellisseria which was cool....but where is IT? Ty for your time!
  4. watch the video, blew me away to see the lace and the fabric actually move with the avatars body. Like REAL motion. I still cant believe I am seeing it and IDK how come they can do it in Sinespace but not in sl!
  5. I just learn there are new style homes. Is the prim count still limited to 117 as it was with the older homes? and is there anywhere to view these newer homes other than in the info page to get an idea if they are worth the premium price? Id like to SEE with my own eyes what they are like and the neighborhoods just like I do with any other parcel Im interested in having. Im thinking there is no preview as it seems this would have been mentioned in the faq if there were.
  6. Thank you Cathy Foil for that update. I like your ideas. because frankly as a purchaser I need it to be simple. and as one who wanted to create, but found the whole process too tedious, Id just like something simple. Give me a script. tell me where it goes and Id be back on board. The more complicated it gets the less time I have for any of it.
  7. You do not point out anything helpful. All you do is "laugh" on anyone who is concerned about the issue. i/e your not trying to be helpful. You're just acting like a bored bully with nothing better to do.
  8. Sorry. we were not, originally, addressing the marketplace. Some other folks have gotten a bit off the original topic in large part due to a particular troll who keeps applying things other than to the topic. And so if you do not see the original post I can defo see why you thought the subject was other than what was intended. The original post states that in order to comment in the SL website, say for "destinations" or in my example, when you love the premium gift, you must be logged into facebook in order to post. I think some folks were adding that facebook tracks you. but it can only do that IF you are logged into it and IF you allow them to do so with your browser. I think allowing it is default so if you didnt want them to track you then you can set the browser up to prevent that. But again thats not the issue. I log into SL website I expect to comment as Tenly logged into the SL website. Not to be forced to get a facebook account or to use my RL FB account to make a comment for my SL identity. Thankfully some of the lindens realize this is a problem and are looking at how to proceed.
  9. That is indeed very odd. And contrary to what another has said, the fact that SL can be found on FB does not have anything to do with you trying to go to the MP and seeing a message like that. Ive not seen that myself. If it happens again maybe grab a screenshot? and maybe ask lindens why that would happen. I know the MP has supposedly been updated so maybe thats been tied into it as well. I sure hope not.
  10. Why would I want to snap a photo and pop it anywhere else? the whole point of commenting in the appropriate area is to directly show appreciation for the item given. And as the person it was given to. Meaning I tenly log in to SL and I tenly expect to show my appreciation on the SL website. Not via some third party site or using any third party platform which requires me to use an alternate account.
  11. You do seem to troll quite a bit. Without contributing anything at all. Very strange behavior by one supposedly not affected by the issue.
  12. i like my new shoes and my old shoes. a good investment never goes out of style. If I could figure out how to remove the foot from the old shoes and use the new shoes with my bodies that would be real love.
  13. I think you do not understand the situation. Its not that you have a choice to link or not to link. If you want to let SL know you like something they gave you in premium gifts, show your appreciation, or comment on some lovely destination, you can not do so unless you have and use a facebook account.
  14. Just want to update the thread. while the guy in jira did not seem to care and closed the bug rudely (calls himself Shrike Linden) the lovely person who has been addressing my support ticket on this issue, Kit, did go above and beyond to let me know LL cares about all its residents and are looking into the issue. Ive been with Sl with one avatar or another since 2004. Ive sadly watched other grids come and go. In fact, a couple of my fav alternate grids, disappeared while I was in hospital this past year. I cant believe they are no longer there. Certainly hope SL is in a much safer harbor! Ive loved watching Sl change. For me SL has been part creative outlet (not as much time for that as Ive dreamt of), part fun fantasy (Ive loved the role play) and don't even take me to the market as I always have to have this or that! Holy moly Ive spent so much money in SL. Cuz ya know I gotta have this hairdo or that outfit that I could never in a million years make on my own. To me, SL is like an artists haven. Financially I come and go. But I sure hope SL goes on long after I pass away. A jewel for some other creative person to marvel at. I wont be commenting anywhere FB is required. Still peeved that there is no way to go and delete all the comments I have, inadvertently made, using my RL name. But Im happy to know they are looking at this seriously. I don't come to SL to be RL. Maybe you do. C'est la vie.
  15. six years later and just what I was looking for. Thank you!
  16. I have on my RL fb acct. and I could not figure out how they knew I was into secondlife. I thought maybe they just picked up on cookies or something. But now I know I must have commented and it used my RL FB login for SL commenting (without me realizing it). And this would explain why my RL FB acct has been getting all kind of friend requests from what look like SL folks. Apparently this has been going on for years. I had no idea. and no I do not care that there was some disclaimer below the fold. I had no reason not to trust SL or to realize my comments were getting posted as RL self on an SL website. I totally expected that me logged into an SL website as tenly would be me tenly making a comment. To best of my knowledge no way to go back to check activity on an Sl website to remove comments. Once you are locked in you are locked in.
  17. Selene I was not trying to insult you. I just meant go try to comment and see if you see the same thing I did (Ive noted that you now know what i meant). I definitely did not mean to make reference to your personal ability to comment to me (or anyone else). I am sorry I phrased that entirely wrong and it came out not at all what I meant to say. I respect your thoughts and feelings and would never try to insult you in the way that seemed to come across. Again, I only meant try it and see if you have same experience.
  18. Thank you Whirley. Im sure your posts will be respected. I am following this one bug now. especially as mine was closed with rebuke and not care. Whirley IDK who you are but thank you for caring. and a high five to soft linden as well. Ive been with SL off and on since 2004. Even paid for a year I wasnt able to login due to health reasons. why? because I wanted to support SL. Its a place when Im well and have time Ive always enjoyed. but forcing facebook logins is a last straw. Im sure Ill peek in now and then. but I definitely wont be commenting on the website anymore and doubtful Ill renew premium. no more high-fives. Im sure it will be no loss to anyone but me. cest la vie.
  19. As an update for anyone who cares. Lindens response was to say what we already knew and to close the bug with little more than a shrug. In short, you will use facebook if you want to comment on anything on the SL website. I consider the response to be rather cold hearted. meaning Linden does not care if anyone is forced to use facebook in order to comment. its intentional and if you don't like it. Leave. Premium account canceled. Done. :-) https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-226011 Shrike Linden added a comment - 03/Jan/19 11:33 AM The entire commenting system uses a Facebook plugin; in fact, if your screenshots were slightly lower, you'd see a link stating "Facebook Comments Plugin" that has additional details!
  20. apparently this is an intended feature that SL implemented. Not a bug. and they are not going to remove the requirement unless other people object to being required to login to facebook in order to leave comments in SL destinations. Ive made them aware of this discussion and noted the jira bug. If you dont want to be required to use FB with your SL then please let them know. You can go to the jira bug report and elect to watch it, flag it, or comment on it. As well as make your feelings known on this thread. I wont be commenting in any other SL property requiring FB participation. And for the moment Ive canceled my premium membership. Though Ill admit at this time Ive canceled because Ive at least temporarily lost interest in trying to create anything and just to peep around one does not need to pay. Wish I did have the time to create. anyway....Best regards to all.
  21. But not being open about it. I tried to search for the bug you mention and found it was forbidden for me to view. So I made my own bug report. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-226011
  22. Just tried to find it but as you guys noted it is not viewable by the public. I made a public bug. Let's see if they try to hide it. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-226011
  23. Why should SL require a facebook plugin. And why should my screenshots be suspicious when Ive clearly shown how anyone can get the same experience. My screenshots cut off where they do because thats what is shown on my screen. Doesnt change my objection to being required to use facebook to comment. No one should have to do that.
  24. yes I just figured that out. Why keep it a secret???
  25. another user said they have been doing this for a year. so I think not enough people are aware and complaining to them to stop doing this. All they did was give you a link so your post does not appear on facebook but if you do not have a facebook account you cant post at all in the sl website. and if you do then sl is using your private FB icon. Well you know what I mean. Ill see if I can find that jira post.
