So you don't get that message that says "connecting" "connecting" "connecting" and it takes forever to connect to Marketplace? I do. I never had any problem with firefox before this latest update. This new update reminds me of dial-up. I may have downloaded an odd tool bar or add-on or something, but I didn't see where it gave u a choice?

So does this new update from firefox; it crashes and takes forever to load Marketplace... forever! Somebody made a goof in this new download; I never seen firefox like this before. It takes like five minutes or more to just open up Marketplace. It's horrible now. And, I get this stupid message that says "connecting" "connecting" "connecting" and it's not connecting. I'll try downloading several, might be worth a try.

What web browser do u use and what do u think is the best? I've noticed since firefox updated to 4.0, it's hard to log in and work the SL web page here and other things are slower on the net. My computer hates the new firefox update for some reason; it gets so slow like dial-up used to be for me. What web browser are u on and what would u suggest is the best web browser to download from the ones in the following link? When you click on the little video it gives you an option of browsers to choose from. I want to ditch firefox 4.0 'cuz it's too slow and plodding. Any suggestions for me or anyone have any of these other browsers suggested in the video link here? The SL web page takes way too long too load for me on the new firefox and I've noticed this from the very beginning of the new firefox 4.0 download. I'm advocating the movie "The Reader" here because were all the Nazi's villians? We know the higher ups were, the ones making the big money. But were all the Germans (in the lower classes) who became Nazi's a complete and total villian, or could their have been other reasons they became a Nazi? The movie "The Reader" may provide some answers. It did for me, anyhow. ETA: This quoted a post I didn't hit reply, too. It's done this to me many times... I dunno know what's up with that.

Yes, I know Storm, and I'm not a Nazi sympathizer... I'm just trying to steer people away from compartmentalizing and/or cliches for this type of sim. As I stated earlier in the thread I am against war altogether, don't understand why in the first place, and would really have no interest in violent or war themed sims. It reminds me of the kids who used to wake me up on a Saturday at 7 a.m. playing cowboys and indians. What a cliche cowboys and indians is and a bunch of hogwash. It's like people make up myths about the good guys and the bad guys that it's a compartmentalized cliche with no basis in reality (talking about the American Indians here, not Hilter). ETA: I wanted to mention and encourage anyone reading this thread to watch the movie "The Reader". It truly opened my eyes.

I'm so relating to you Willow because at the root of this what is conjecture and what isn't? What is perceived truth and what isn't? Interesting counterpoints. I also want to make it clear that I do think Willow got it spot on, but I do not believe in some sort of centralized education. And I'm not sure that was really her point either. My thinking was more along the lines of everyone learns differently (thus no two brains will ever be alike), and it's not just country to country but within countries themselves. And I wasn't even thinking along the lines of politcal correctness but more the propaganda that abounds in any and all countries. There is propaganda even on the internet.

Exactly, bingo! That's why I mentioned the movie "The Reader". All information filters into each person's brain differently. In other words, we're not all getting the same information at any time. No two brain's have the same information; that is not logical. But you got it Willow. I say Willow Win.

I like this answer (but I don't think it can apply to all things. It's a nice quote, but, but, but (see my posts below). I'd recommend the movie The Reader to anyone who hasn't seen it. It has a very interesting twist on "nazism" and the Nazi propaganda of that time period. Remember they only had radios and only heard what they heard. I don't want to give away the plot in case people want to see that movie but haven't yet.

No, freedom of speech is in the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Freedom of expression may be in the Bill of Rights then. Sorry, it's early for me, just having coffee, and don't really want a discussion about our U.S. freedoms either ad naseum. I think on an adult sim it should be okay and come with a notecard someone must take and read upon entering the sim. If they don't follow the rules of the sim, they will be banned. There are so many people here from all walks of life, it's hard to know how some people are going to react, or when the griefers will show up. Urgh griefers, urgh. My thinking about adult is just that if the person who wants to do this keeps it adult, they might bypass griefing hopefully, as I hope for everyone. I'd like to wear a LEGALIZE MARIJUANA NOW t-shirt, but I doubt the G and Moderate sims would appreciate it, so I haven't bought a t-shirt that says that yet or even attempted to make one. I can go on adult, I just have to activate that account and haven't done so yet. I'm very fine on general to moderate for now though. ETA: I haven't activated my adult mostly account because I want to avoid violence and don't want the cybersex thing but I'd like to look around on adult sims perhaps one day, but I will avoiding all violent sims. I don't like war, nor war movies, except a few good ones like Saving Private Ryan. This should fall under free speech and freedom of expression under the U.S. constitution tho.

I wasn't sure if you were talking about gestures or that odd lettering that looks like boxes rather than the English alphabet (when you said "fancy lettering"), and in my chat actually there are no words sometimes, just boxes that look like rectangles that replace a word. Anyhow, gestures... love 'em! Have fun.

Hello, I need to remake my chim because a dance got in there that I don't want. I spent a lot of money (well it is a lot to me) on the dances, so I want to be sure I can re-do my chim without it harming all the dances I want to keep. How do I do this.. redo a chim so I can get that one dance out of there?

What do u mean by premades? I just took a pic for my profile (trying again) and edited in my photoshop in like a few minutes. Now I have to see if there is a cost to import my photo. I'd do it for you, but I don't know the costs involved yet, and then there is also the time. You can download photoshop for a free one-month trial and try to do it yourself. I might be able to talk you through how to edit a photo on photoshop. Editing is the easiest part of photoshop.

Also, once you get some free items set up for your avatar, you can get a job on SL to make some lindens so you can make an avatar to your liking.

Hi Jane, Again, sorry to hear this. It's good you sent the crash reports. I was wondering if lowering your spyware settings and/or going to windows/tools/options and making sure you add in allow cookies for SL and enable pop-up windows for SL. You have to type in under allow "secondlife.com" in the Windows tools. It could possibly be your spyware is fighting SL or you have too high a security setting on your computer? My spyware hates SL and fights it tooth and nail. (However, do not reveal your spyware on the internet, just like never share password). Also, when you get into SL; increase your bandwidth. I increased my bandwidth today in SL and it was much better. I also set my preferences to always move with arrows and I shut off all particles, killed scripts in my hair, and my computer was getting along better with SL today.

Sorry to hear this. I crashed seven times or could not log in and then would get the message "darn, you've been logged out of SL". However, after sending the crash reports, it got fixed. So, you are getting the window that pops up that says "send crash report", but are you sending it?
