  1. Hi there, WE HAVE A DREAM We are seeking the assistance of an experienced and creative SL event organizer / Hunt Expert (Guru). Our multi-sim SL destination has over 150 merchants and we want to run a BIG Valentine's Day Hunt in 2014. THE ROLE The Hunt Guru will oversee all aspects of the Hunt: communication, planning, merchant involvment, setting up the Hunt, advertising it and running the event, as well as problem solving along the way. SUPPORT To support our chosen Hunt Guru we have a Chamber of Commerce team in place comprising of Merchant and non-merchant sim residents. We have also done lots of initial planning work (including the Hunt requirements and supporting roles) and this info has been posted on a purpose-built Google Forum. Naturally, access to this info will be given to the sucessful Hunt Guru candidate. We have not yet shared the hunt info with our wider Merchant population because we want to fill this role first. WHY? Why do we need a Hunt Expert? Unfortunately we are all busy and none of us have the time required to set up a Hunt from concept thru to final delivery. However the members of the Chamber of Commerce do have the time to help out in a variety of ways and are committed to making this a fun and successful event. SHOW ME DA MONEY! In terms of payment, there will be a fee for participating Merchants and this will be used to remunerate the Hunt Guru. This means the more Merchants who are involved, the more the Guru will be paid. INTERESTED? So if you have the experience, the time, are reliable, have a strong track record in coordinating successful SL Hunts and are interested in working with an enthusiastic, supportive team to get the job done, we'd really like to hear from you. Please contact Emma Krokus or Carmsie Melodie by note card - headed Hunt Guru Application [your full SL name] - and include details of your experience and any other relevant info. Applications close 14 November, 2013. Looking forward to hearing from you!
  2. Hi there, I was wondering if the script noted in my heading exists? I am setting up a sim arrival area and, rather than use an online/offline board, I was hoping to have signs (prims) that open an avi's profile when clicked. Can this be done - maybe via UUID or name? thanks, C
  3. thanks so much ... i'll try it. advice vm appreciated
  4. Having trouble with textures. When the alpha/transparency in a prim/linkset is modified via my script it isn't visible until it's clicked. I need the linkset to immediately "appear" as per the script order and timing. llSetLinkAlpha is being used. The problem occurs with linksets containing prims and sculpts but is most apparent with textures on mesh linksets. It's also random .... sometimes linksets show, other times not. Additionally, if two people are at the build, some see items become visible that others don't and visa versa. At other times the linkset appears a bit later on, after my camera has been moved. It's driving me crazy! Anyone had the same issue and is there a fix? Thanks C Some days you're th

  7. Hi there, I have a number of TP scripts in my inventory but cannot seem to find or make one that reliably does what i want it to. I hope to include a script in an invitation that i send to people. The invitation is a 3D open door that my invitees will rez. I need a script that: I can put in the doorway and, when clicked, the clicker is reliably and directly TP'd to a set location.By direct I mean no LM or MapBy reliable i mean they always land within, say, 5 meters of the nominated arrival point. The script needs to work from any location in SL (intra sim) as the invitees might open it anywhere, but the arrival point will always be the same. anyone got any ideas?
  8. Please contact me as soon as possible, Struth ... thank you.
  9. Hi there, I am in a team that's working on an art build. the build includes several images that appear on a big screen in turn (8 in all). We are hoping to have an animated, swirly textured border on a prim in front of the images. so it gives them a dreamy feel. as if they are "appearing" and floating in the air. The build has a black background and, although on a rectangular prim, the animated textures would need an alpha centre and irregular outer edges so they don't look like a frame with defined, straight sides. More like they are fading out into space on the edges. Sort of smoke or cloud-like. I have an example pic, it has a photoshop smoke-like texture and I'd like this to be extended on the frame - same thing but moving. this is so hard to explain in text . i hope i have not confused you completely. the other issue is timing. we have only 2 weeks to get the whole build done. the animated frame will be used in an overall scripting process that begins soon ... so the frame and pics will fade out and back again as new images appear. if anyone has the skill and time to help with this we'd be very grateful. PS files of the smokey texture can be sent, if needed. thanks,C **Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://secondlife.i.lithium.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif" border="0" alt=":smileyhappy:" title="Smiley Happy" />

  11. You would think it has a note card for setting thing up in the content, but i have looked in the edit / contents of the whole book and all parts of it ... cannot see a card. *whimper*
  12. Thanks again Rolig .... sigh .... such a pity if I have to start from scratch but I appreciate the advice.
  13. Thanks so much for the reply, Rolig. Perhaps I should have explained - the book it's full perm except the scripts, which are no moddy. As it's listed as a feature in the book's manual, I assume the designer has included 'give inventory' in the script somehow. What i am trying to fathom is how I make it work. My thinking is there would be a note card naming convention of some kind and I'd have to add the note card to the book's contents in a certain spot. In terms of the chat option I am confused. When I try to set this up via the menu it does not tell me how to add my text so I can make it say what i want it to say. The rest of the book does everything very well but I am really at a loss with these two features.
  14. Hi there, I recently got Bjorn's Scrapbook from Marketplace. It's a fabulous freebie and I am using it to create a book for a 3D artwork I am making. The book is full perm except the scripts which are no moddy. Problem is that the book's manual says you can nominate pages to give out a note card. I want to do this but the instructions don't tell me how to set it up. It also has chat options so that the book can "say" things to people. It has a menu for this but, again, the instructions don't tell me how to add the text. I've contacted the designer but his profile says he's not in SL much these days and so far I've had no reply. Here's the marketplace link in case anyone wants to try to help me work this out. The manual is included under the marketplace description and also comes with the book when purchased. I'm sure others would benefit from some help with this too. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Bjorns-FREE-Scrapbook-Organize-your-textures-publish-a-book/240... Many thanks! C

  16. SL world map is the problem - when i try the Teleport now button I get the error message and it does not work opening the map coordinates and clicking from there either. The only way I can use the map is to: find and copy a slurl on the world map log into SL via my normal viewer paste the world map slurl into local chat, then click it to go to the location. It's a real hassle. Any ideas? Is this a windows 7 problem and, if so, is there a fix?
  17. Hi there, I have a new PC (windows 7) and for some reason whenever i click on "visit this destination" on the sl map i get this message: We've encountered a problem. We were unable to complete the search for the content you requested. Please continue exploring the map while we look into the cause. Thank you for your patience! It's driving me crazy! Anyone know how to fix this? Is there a work-around? Thanks, C
  18. Hi Tissuepaper, And a BIG an yeong to you! I am australian but I lived in South Korea for over 2 years, mostly in Ori (on the Bundang Line). Hangu gun dae dan han na ra im nida. Sorry if my spelling is wrong and don't get too excited. I speak only cho kum, cho kum Korean because I am waegukin. If you use "search" (bottom of your SL viewer) and look under "places" you'll find what you are looking for. There are many clubs in SL for dancing. I know there is an active Korean population too, so you'll soon make friends. Maybe try "Korea" under places in "search" and see what comes up. Add me if you like and I will help you, if i can. If we meet I can give you some glasses to wear. When you put these on you automatically dance Psy's Gangnam Style! Welcome to Second Life! Carmsie

I take noobs there if they are looking for help with a make-over. Also, although a female avi, I bought some great hair at Hoorenbeek that I wear when my outfit calls for a modern, stylish short cut. I get lots of positive comments on it.
  20. Hi, There are lots of different ways artists network in SL. Here are the links to some: A Flickr group for SL Artists: http://www.flickr.com/groups/creativeartnetwork/ Sasun's great in world art gallery kiosk network: http://sl-artgalleries.blogspot.com.au/ I have many other art links on my new web site: http://slartexposed.weebly.com/sl-art-links.html Those should get you started. Good luck! Carmsie C
  21. Hi all, I've just launched a new website called 'SL Art Exposed'. It's designed to showcase high quality, interesting SL artworks. Although in its infancy, the site features 2D and 3D art from Second Life (SL), Machinima, as well as a comprehensive list of links to other Second Life art-related sites, blogs and in world locations. I'll be adding images and info to 'SL Art Exposed' regularly and thought it might be a good idea to get input from SL residents. After all, you're all out there exploring SL and surfing the net and may know of great places, artists or art I have never come across! I'm seeking images and/or locations of: exceptional 3D builds and interactive/immersive art2D artworks and snapshotsquality galleries, along with SL art links (blogs, articles, web sites, etc)... you get the drift ... anything arty and worthy of being showcased. Also very interested in talking to artists, so names/referrals would also be great. All artists will be fully credited on the site. If you have any other ideas I'd be happy to consider them. Please take a look at the site before posting as your idea may have already been included. Many thanks! C
  22. this post is a bit old so i bet you have had many replies. i'd love some pro images of my sim and my store if you are still free. please send note card if interested cheers, C
