  1. as it relates to 'daily' or monthly limits. I tried to find the ducumentation can't find it anywhere, I went to transfer a large amount to my paypal it said it exceeded the daily limit, so i transfered a bit over half the amount and the next day I went to transfer the remainder then the message said it exceeded my montly limit "for my tier level" (I am a free account) Anybody  have a link to where the daily or monthly limits are talked about?

Is OBS what most people use to record videos?

there are a few options - camtasia, nvidia has a screen recorder, but OBS is now only free but has a myriad of recording, and streaming, options amd configurations that makes it the most widely used - and there are a million tutorials on youtube as well

  3. it's all fun and cool with one avatar on an empty sim.... LOL I don't know anything about this technology for mobile, but after 20 with a desktop running the latest hardware, 50+ people in the same place you are in the low teens, if not single digit FPS rates

  4. You didn't remention what record software you are using, but, you are recording a screen - your record speed is set by the record speed you choose in your recording software, not the FPS in game. even 2 FPS you can still record at 60 FPS, but of course the recording will look bad with jerky movements. With software like OBS, you can monitor your recording to see if you are getting encoding lag and/or rendering lag. Even if I am at a really laggy event (like 8FPS in world) I still really don't get rendering lag or encoding lag. I currently record at 60FPS in OBS, and I edit the timeline at 24 FPS. But in most cases in world, the FPS is often between 10-32 FPS (I use a FPS limit of 32 FPS) with most recordings I do usualy falling in the mid teens in terms of FPS in world. Not ideal of course, but I do weddings so not alot of fast movement either. But I also only record 2k footage so there is that as well. I have a i7, a 3070, 32 gig of fast ram, and everything is running from and recording to SSDs.  I haven't yet named my computer, but I suppose if I had to I'd name it Dependable Dan lol

  5. what is a 'HDR monitor'? I know what HDR is of course, But Im not sure I seen a HDR monitor I have a BenQ 10 bit monitor, though, never use the 10 bit part of it. Amd yeah, 'cartoonish' would be a good description of what the PBR viewer looks like right now. Or maybe over cooked. at least the avi does. Blacks too crushed as well. But playing around with a couple settings in the Lighting tab mostly corrected that. But its a work in progress

Hehehe, is it a Vendetta or am i just doing the sensible thing and giving avatars their much deserved complexity.

though love. Maybe if more viewers would not render these overly complex avatars and clothing, creators will learn to make the mesh properly......

  7. If I remember correctly, in the old days there used to be a refresh scene/world on the viewer. Since most everything is server side now I wonder why there couldn't be a refresh/reload scene. But I am sure smarter people than me have thought of that and there are prob good reasons why it wouldn't work. Or even a right click on a avi and select a refetch/reload option to get the viewer to to re fetch the data for that avi. In most cases this is just an annoyance, but when filming the area with all these half baked avis, it becomes a real hassle

  8. Niran has a vendetta against badly built avatars, so in most areas 70% of the avis will be greys in tock settings. Need to go into preferences and turn up all the settings for avatars. Keybindings you will use to put in "normal" walking. that I did a youtube tutorial a while back. search youtube for blackdragon tutorials there are some good in depth guides on there people have done

  9. I noticed this for a while and have been asking how to 'force' the viewer to render the half rendered people. the only solution I have found that sometimes works is derender the people - the go and remove them from the blacklist, and then switch groups to try to get the viewer to render them. sometimes it works, sometimes it don't

  10. ....And you're still the same, I caught up with you yesterday
(Still the same, still the same)
Moving game to game, no one standing in your way
Turning on the charm long enough to get you by
(Still the same, still the same)
    You're still the same.......

Seriously though, 15 years ago crashes were part of daily life in SL whether it was sim crashes or tp crashes, I do find now and then a tp will get 'hung up' then crashes the viewer, but not often anymore

@Jackson Redstar, back on the original subject a little. I'm sure that you'll have probably looked at this already but do double-check that you have all the correct AV whitelisting in place for BD as well as FS.

In a nutshell, why getting new users to stay is so hard...unless one has a PhD in Technology.. yeah yeah I know it's a "game" and gamers know all this stuff already - but my guess would be that 10% of the user base is a "gamer" with an in depth knowledge of all the inner working of their OS.

But thank you - I'll recheck everything is white listed and as a side note I always set the background idle to 0 in debug settings so it never "sleeps"

UPDATE -  i USED to always have everything white listed. I forgot Win 11 got rid of Defender and there is no longer any options to allow for exclusions. I dont use any other AV either
