  1. ....and you can't even use pretty mesh barefeet as long they stick to they old vewers that do not show meshes. It's a sad thing, i have lovelly friends that cannot buy a newer PC that supports the new viewers, as long that it's just invisiprims, alpha socks and meshes they stil can use SL, but one day or another other things will be updated and they will be lost :smileysad:
  2. No i meant that it's very fishy if the earlier payments are not done but new ones are comming. Either the queue for the payments is stopped, broken, or MP has realy forgotten about all the earlier ones. My friend is not happy at all.
  3. I made a test order this morning on MP, at a friends shop, so i can ask her. The item was delivered many hours later, and this is many hours ago, she still has not received my L$. I did a second test with her minutes ago: It was delivered in minutes, she got messages from the MP, the MB and got the L$'s. Just so that you all know.
  4. I dunno what all this fuzz is about: [RESOLVED 1:13PM PST, 14 February 2012] The Marketplace issues have been resolved. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/02/14/post1564/ That means that paying the merchants is: a) not an issue b) not an issue : /
  5. Toysoldier, now i understand why merchants are so upset. I'm not a merchant, just a buyer, and i was following the JIRA about the delayed deliveries since the beginning, this is 3 month now, just too see what is going on. Almost no communication whatsoever from them, just a couple of very short "formal" replies. Acually they even fixed the delays a week ago. (well, they fixed it a couple of times ) They demonstrated abolutelly no regards for any customer and merchant of the MP by just letting them run into the delays, the broken carts etc. etc. No warning on MP's page that there are huge delays, no shortening of timeouts to cut down time until delivery where going failed.... Just nothing So what an incredible dumb idea to run whatever they tried to run today. UPDATE: Finally they warn us customers, how nice from them: Second Life Marketplace is down for maintenance. Sorry for any inconvenience. It'll be back online soon! (this is shown right now on the MP)
  6. OK... they are reading this thread, they know the MP website is down: Second Life Marketplace Offline [postED 9:15AM PST, 14 February 2012] We are aware that the Second Life Marketplace is currently offline and we are working to resolve the issue. Please watch this blog for further updates. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/02/14/post1564/ EDIT: it's up again for now
  7. I received the first order 5 minutes after L$ got taken after 7 hours from buyng. A second delivery arrived an half hour later. Maaan! are they lucky! Now the Europeans are getting home from work, right in time to sell Valentine's stuff. But for Australia and Asia it's too late - Valentine is gone. I will buy something now to see how much it takes, there should be an immense queue after 7 1/2 hours. EDIT: ...If only the MP wouldn't be down a second time: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/marketplace.secondlife.com
  8. It's official now: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/02/14/post1563/ Marketplace Delivery Issues Posted by Status Desk on February 14th, 2012 at 07:40 am PST [Posted 7:40am PST, 14 February 2012] We are aware that orders placed on the Second Life marketplace are delivering slower than normal. Orders are not being lost. Please allow additional time for items ordered to be delivered to the intended recipient. We will update this post when we have more information. slower ... is 6 and a half hour now
  9. Dammit! I did know about the HW maintenance - but not that transaction where affected. They added this after i read the first part: "[updated 4:51am PST, 14 February 2012] We will be starting our hardware maintenance shortly. Please refrain from rezzing any no-copy objects or making any L$ transactions during this time." ...so i was happily buying stuff in shops seen that the MP is stuck again Why don't they use the gridwide announcements as they did years ago? Edit: ...and by the way, yes the MP must be somehow down partly or completelly. I'm still waiting for deliverys since 5 hours! (well ok, i'm not really waiting anymore ) Check out this JIRA, there is some current info at the bottom. WEB-4260 Delayed Deliverys in early hours And don't forget to "watch" the issue to vote it up (the more "watches" the more they see it) if you have this issues.
  10. I can confirm that they defixed the fix, or found the cord that was accidentally unplugged yesterday. Bought 3 items at separate times, no cart involved, different merchants. The first started at 12:50am toke 20 minits, the second one at 1:10am toke 40 mins, and the last one... i stopped counting. So i'm gonna back to buy inworld, which means i will buy less and have less time to visit more intresting places than shops, and at the end i will ask myself if i'm going to SL just for shopping or what P.S.: If Direct Delivery still will have the same bug... will they at least change the name to Deferred Delivery?
  11. Installed Firestorm and had no moar slurring too ....but not anymoarrr! :matte-motes-oh-rly: I found this burgreportthingy here that fixed it for me: http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-2896 (read at the bottom) And so it goes: 1) Download the old LL viewer 1.23 (i know it's crazy, read the burgreportthingy to believe) http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers (deep down at the bottom too ))) 2) Close your browser (i didn't the first time - oops) 3) Install old LL viewer 1.23 (i started it once but i didn't log in) 4) Log in in Firestorm (or Emergence i guess) and SlurL something in your intertubes browser If you have chaged the application link/call/setting (?) in your browser and it asks you for "YourViewerNameHere.app" or "second life", choose second life because it's funny :matte-motes-oh-rly: ...hope it may fixit for'ya
  12. It's on Reddit now Would be nice if they would warn about it on the MP mainpage... (still waiting for my new shoes)
  13. Same here, since weeks deliveries around 1am-6am SLT can go as long as waiting 2-3 hours(!) to be done, if not getting failed after so long. It seems to me that friday and saturday night, respectively saturday and sunday morning here, it works better. First i thought it's because of the "too many objects in cart" issue, so i started buying one by one, but it didn't change at all. Sometimes it works, and suddendly one delivery is stuck, and that one blocks any later orders until delivered or canceled by the MP. Would love to have a cancel button myself :matte-motes-big-grin: to recall the order blocking the queue, or maybe.... even better if the MP would just jump over stuck deliveries. Of course i started to buy inworld more often, but some stuff can only be found in the MP ...Or maybe just set the delivery fail switch to an half hour? :matte-motes-big-grin-wink: Looks to me they are doing backups or some other kind of service at that time, or maybe some resources are capped during that period for whatever reason ($?). LOL
  14. If you rent (they also call it "buy") from someone I would like to give you and others reading here a few warnings as I saw often people loosing their land, the tier payed ahead, and in some cases even all the objects they had rezzed. (it's still nice to rent a bit land believe me) First, pay your tier only to the sim owner, never "estate management" people that do not own the sim. The name of the sim owner is in the sim tab when you look at the land window, not on the land owner tab, but both names should be the same when you "buy" the land. Make also sure that when you pay your tier it goes directly to the sim owner and not some "agent" in between. If someone else is listed as land seller, make sure he works for the owner directly. Just ask the owner by sending him a notecard if you can trust this manager and the tier you pay goes directly to him, the owner. If they lied or changed later the way how the payment goes then stop renting the place and tell that it is because of that. Doing this, you avoid paying a person more in the chain, that from we all i saw many times, "disappears" with your ahead payed tier. If that would happen, the sim owner will ask you for the money he lost or to restart paying tier right away so you can stay. Else he would evict you and re-rent the land (he possibly lost money too). Worst case he sells the whole sim to another owner that will rise the tier or evict you anyway because he wants to open a pizzeria right there. Would that happen and you use the land "just" as residence, i suggest to not stay and not argue for it. (just do not say no until the last moment, oki?) Argue to have more time for the leave and play dumb, lie that you are ill, change your mother language or do something to make it as long as possible. If you get into your neighboroughs askig you to stay so they can stay too, just say no if you can handle it. Actually i suggest everybody to leave such sims but fight for the time to leave by playing "we are intrested but...". I suggest this because it is not acceptable that a sim owner does not handle the sims himself and waits for you and himself (!?) loosing money. Real good sim owners have "real" real estate managers really helping him because they are payed, are ~friends or felt in love with him. If you really need or want to stay, especially because you may have a business on it then it's different tacticts: In this case argue to stay with all others only under the conditions that tier is payed to him directly from now on, that the tier stays the same, or even be lowered if allready high, and he will grant everybody a couple of days tier as compensation for the time he doesn't need to handle all that work preparing, advertizing and renting the sim plus the money he would loose for the vacant lands. Then you can get a bit back negotiating giving him the feeling he won something and he his a goood business man. Remember him that finally it's only his fault he putted this con artists between him and you. But do not forget to be nice with him because he can always reset all the tarraforming, restitute your objects and ban you while you are picking around him in front of your house. (it'a a big red blinking button with a nasty noise i believe) In any case do not stay if the owner wants to, or even has allready has, rent the sim to another agency between him and you. Tell him that it is exactly because of that! Hopefully that owner will learn to not use such "ghost enterprises" between you and him never again. If you pay exclusivelly to the sim owner the only thing that then can go worng is that he does not pay Linden Labs. (disapperared, banned, etc.) Stil, you don't have a possible con artist between you and the sim owner. Second, pay as less tier ahead as possible, even if tedious. Some will sell you the land only if you pay 4 weeks ahead the first time, that's acceptable, but never more than 4. From then on, pay only one week at time to reniew, max. a couple of weeks if you will be away from SL. Some tier boxes also allow other people paying for you. This way, if something bad will happen you do not loose too much. Those tips are maybe exagerated for 20 buck$ a month, but are important if you later rent more. Not last, apart loosing money, loosing your lovely and carefully created "own" place and needing to pack and destroy it in one night is a very sad SL-moment. You will hate it, think to leave for ever, or maybe stay and go crazy and become a very slimy griefing horned troll. :matte-motes-nerdy: Unfortunatelly LL will not help you if above happens, for them it is an issue among residents, so do not handle this kind of abuse. Still, always abuse report under "Land>Fraud" the hell out everybody that toke part, that may help others. Thus, it would be nice if LL would show us if the owner is late paying the sim, best with a nice message when you tp in like "This sim's maintenance fee is 38 hours late, the owner, GoldenTrustTower74 has not used any SL services since 5 days 43 hours 21 minutes 01 seconds". And here a last tip for the advaced: TRACK'EM ALL! Serious sim owner estates have a group where you are invited when you rent land, there you can check when the owner and his assistents where online last time. Or even better, buy an AV online scanner that works when you are offline, one that is rezzed on your land, not a HUD, and sends you emails about this people logging in and out. This way you can check without need to enter SL. Actually a real nice sim owner should not come to SL just for business once a month, isn't it? Track the owner, his husband and also his wife, his associates, the estate managers, the lady at the desk, his dog and especially his secret lovers. All that you can. If you see the owner or many of those people not logging in for a while, start asking out nicely but concerned everybody, from associate to the dog, what is going on. If you do not get any intelligent answers start going late with your tier payment. (most allow 3 days) A realy good owner will send you a notice that he is away for a while and asks you to contact somebody else (that you will track too of course) if in need. ...but it's still nice to rent a bit land :smileyvery-happy:
