  1. Your moon looks very different from my moon! How did you do that?
  2. Why is it that the moon in Second Life is • not bright enough as if dimmed down and • transparent, so you can see the stars shining through? Wouldn't it be easy to make it better?
  3. <giggle> The question that led to this discovery was: can I *send* a calling card to someone, as opposed to give it to him/her via the pie menu at close encounter. Well... yes you can!
  4. Speaking of calling cards... contrary tocommon belief, I do have a calling card of myself in my inventory, so theoretically I could even send it to someone else, another thing possible denied by some. My only question is: how did this card get into my inventory? Can someone help?
  5. Innula Zenovka's solution doesn't work for me at all. At least not if you'd expect to sit on a prim as usual. Either the avi sits in the middle of the prim instead of on top, or it is somewhat squeezed to the side. There is only one way to work around this problem, and that is by adding poseballs to the objects.
  6. Yes! That makes much more sense! I would say, the display as used in Marketplace suggesting a direct relationship between the two numbers without mentioning the .30 fee, is slightly unlucky. Thx for your answer!
  7. This is how Marketplace displays the equivalency between Linden$ and US$... it's completely different from what the real current exchange rate of the Linden is. What does that mean?
  8. I want one! Where did you get it?
  9. Can't find "stop all animations" in Viewer 2.
  10. Oh my... where's the creative spirit that fired the makers of SL? Don't they know that people want some individuality? Just imagine sitting in those uniform sims and not even being able to build!
  11. Hmmm... where did this thing go called support? Where are all the Lindens you could personally ask about issues like this? I'm not *expecting* they create these sims, I just would like to know wether something is planned...
  12. #Marianne McCann: Now that you say it.... it's really strange that Linden chose to "ban" their prefab homes into seperate sims and continents. Why not place them in small portions near to mainland areas and cities? That would be so much better! Speaking of development, (sorry this is slightly off-topic): Do you have an idea, wether or when the Suburbs will get the two missing beach/water sims? Or do you happen to know how/whom to ask about it?
  13. I live in the Suburbs; that's four connected sims formerly isolated from any mainland connection. In recent years Lindens added water sims around the Suburtbs, so there are beaches on two sides now and a bridge over to Bay City. However, two sides of the Suburbs are still "not developed". The land is simply cut off with now beach or whatever. Ugly! My question to the Lindens would be: will you complete the two/three missing sims around the Suburbs in the future and if: when will you do it? I just don't know where I could ask that question AND get an answer. Maybe somebody has an idea how to procede in this case. Thanks in advance!
  14. If you wanna get something that will satisfy you in the long run, I'd recommend i7-processor, 1GB or more graphic card and 8GB RAM. These laptops have become quite cheap recently.
  15. Looks smooth. Has this been made with Second Life at all? Any Photoshop over-dubs?
  16. I noticed that right after logging, the game seems normal, and it start getting low fps to move the camera, until it becomes impossible. That sounds familiar. I once had a PC that acted like that. It seems like the cache is running full and never gets emptied. I am not familiar with Windows-PCs - I use Apple - but maybe you wanna check that trace. BTW: back then even the computer company couldn't help and refunded me. There seem to be configurations that just don't work. Also, did you check your problem on different sims? Lately SLs servers have been working quite irregulary. I noticed individual sims run much better thean others.
  17. There is no easy answer to this. I'd suggest to try another viewer, like Phoenix for instance, to see what that does.
  18. Thanks for the long report, Jo. However, SL wasn't generally so horrible in the beginning as you describe it. Perhaps you didn't meet the right people and didn't get the right sims to see. I can only tell you, that it was a great time with blooming creativity based on the simple tools that SL had - something for everybody, an amateur heaven. BTW: I own the same skirt as in the 2nd image of your picture. I posed with it for an artist, who turned the photo into a RL painting!
  19. @Coby: You definitely spent much time in the sun.
  20. I never changed my shape very much and I keep seeing myself as a redhead basically.
  21. @Antonia Marat: your hair is getting brighter and brighter, you're becoming celestial!
  22. I have tried and tried. Settings, sims, viewer versions... no solution to this. With V2 textures sinply don't load fast or don't load completely or don't load at all. Why can I exclude certain explanations? Because with Phoenix the problem doesn't appear. The Phoenix viewer is much better with textures, same computer, same line, same settings few problems. As fast as swapping to V2 - blurred desaster. I find this extremely annoying. You literally can't buy in shops, because all the hundreds of textures in there take hours to load. Why is there no help?m Why isn't this a top priority at the techies at Linden?
  23. Fact is that literally everybody agrees that Phoenix loads textures better than V2, so why? I doubt it has something to do with http or cache, because I have tested it all and there was no difference. In general textures seem to download fine until you reached a certain point, when they almost stop downloading. I'm sure I haven't loaded almost 10 GB at that point, which is the maximum cache size my viewer is set to. So what's really happening? This is going on for quite a while now over different viewer versions and I would call it "showstopper". Like terribly annoying.
